Tenerife's Peak & North: Luxury Private Food & Wine Tour

I came in for my birthday and he curated an incredible custom guided tour to multiple wineries on the island and an incredible lunch, and even gave me an "all reds" tour as I requested. We toured the north of Tenerifè which was a stark contrast to where our hotel was on the beaches in the south of Tenerife. The landscape that we visited in the north was out of this world. Driving through the volcanic landscape, walking through the volcanic national park, and then through the thick fog of the pine mountains, to the mountainous town of Tacoronte-Acentejo (region), to the beautiful vineyards of Monje. All of it what incredible, the temperature changes, the views, all were incredible, very very happy Jamie (our guide) told us to pack warm clothes to layer. We travel quite a bit, we’ve been to several wine tours world wide, and have even studied wine ourselves, but my goodness, this meal paired with the wine at Monje was delicious!!! Now, all that said, this trip was made excellent by our guide, Jamie. When we travel we always do a wine tour if we are in a wine region or a food tour with Viator. But this one exceeded expectations. We departed our hotel at 8:30am and returned back at 5:00pm. There were many places we stopped to walk, enjoy scenery, take photos, have a coffee, use the restroom … all the while Jamie answered all of our questions in the most knowledgeable way. Being that he studied tourism and has a degree in all things Tenerife made this trip and his share of knowledge extra special. Now, going back to Monje. A small Vinyard over looking the sea with wines that were reminiscent of Greek earthy characteristics but its own subtle charm, the Rosè stood out to us the most. But holy moly, the pork. I’m not a fan of meat usually, but that pork was out of this world. We learned a lot, we ate more than enough, and we walked around quite a bit, but the time I returned home, we were at a little over 10k steps. But we did enjoy wandering into the deserted volcanic terrain and Jamie gave us space and time to do this. We had an exceptional day and we thank Jamie for this. Jaime was a fantastic guide. Communication was easy and clear. The tour was very informative and he answered all of our questions. We really enjoyed being able to see so much of Teide National Park and he did a great job of making sure we understood what we were viewing. The winery was lovely and the food, wine, and service were all wonderful. We would definitely take another tour if we had the chance.

Jaime offered an unexpectedly personalised trip for myself and my partner. He was incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of the history, biology, geology, culture, and volcanology of Tenerife and gave a real insight into the beauty and diversity of the island. After breathtaking views of the island and Mt Teide, there followed a really fascinating tour of the vineyard, and a genuinely memorable gastronomic experience, with accompanying wine. He had planned to have us at his favourite table in the dining room as well, and had really gone to some effort to ensure we had the best possible experience of the meal, and of the day as a whole, even down to the tiniest details of using his well established relationship with the local coffee shop owner to make sure his customers had a properly made Barraquito! What struck me was how well Jaime communicated and instilled his passion for the island in myself and my partner, to the extent that what had initially been a short notice holiday escape for us, has now given us a strong desire to return to Tenerife and explore the island and culture again. Jaime himself was punctual, friendly, and knowledgeable and the whole day was planned and timed impeccably, with an incredibly convenient pick up and drop off that allowed us to enjoy the day to the full.

What a fantastic tour! Really got to see Mount Tiede national park from all angles, experiencing the drive up through the cloud layer into brilliant light and stunning scenaery, before the main crowds arrived :-) Then a drive down into the Orotava valley, winery tour and delicious lunch at Bodegas Monje. Jaime told us so much about the island, the national park, the way of life on Tenerife - this trip defnitely justifies its 5 star rating!

Absolutely brilliant trip! I had read the reviews and knew it would be good but it surpassed all expectations! Really brilliant and informative trip of the volcano terrain. The wine tour was very good and the food was delicious. Too much of it, but that’s a good complaint! Really would recommend. Jaime is covid conscious too so we were surprised it was essentially a private tour! As well as that Jaime gave us restaurant recommendations which have been great. 10/10

We had a wonderful time with Jaime going through Teide National Park and exploring different sightseeing stops on the way as well as stopping at the winery. Jaime has exceptional knowledge of the Island and encouraged us to ask him as much as possible. Could recommend any tour with Feel Tenerife if Jaime is on it!

This is a wonderful way to see the island. Jaime was a terrific guide and very easy to work with. The scenery on Teide was amazing and the wine tour was good with a delicious lunch afterwards. I would highly recommend this outing!!
