Todd was an excellent tour guide. We tasted unique food. The history lessons were quite informative. The fresh stroopwoffel was a very sweet treat.

Our walking tour with Dennis was exceptional from start to finish. He has that rare balance of deep local knowledge and an easygoing sense of humour that keeps the group engaged throughout. Every stop along the route came alive through his storytelling — from hidden architectural details to anecdotes about the city’s more colourful past. Dennis paced the tour perfectly, giving us time for photos, questions, and a quick coffee break at a local spot we’d never have found ourselves. What really stood out was how he tailored the experience to the group’s interests, adding thoughtful touches that made it feel personal rather than scripted. Very energetic and fun tour host, Dennis. He had a lot of good information to pass on. Food was fantastic. Ate dessert and dinner. Very filling.

Excellent tour. Kees was a great guide! Highly recommend this tour. Great to taste a variety of Dutch food while seeing the downtown sites.

- Every tour is unique, but you might enjoy freshly baked stroopwafels from a 200-year-old bakery, artisanal Gouda paired with local liquor in a historic merchant house cellar, hand-cut Dutch fries with creamy mayo or satay sauce, colonial Indonesian treats or Surinamese street snacks, famous Dutch chocolates, zesty herring with onions (before 16:00), and a toast with traditional jenever or European wines. Our guides curate tastings based on their personal favorites — so no two tours are ever the same.
- Kids friendly: You may bring a stroller, but we sometimes will need to park it outside for a brief moment.
- We offer vegetarian and pescetarian alternatives, ensuring everyone's dietary needs are met. Gluten-free options are not always possible, but available at most stops for tours starting 16:00 or earlier. To accommodate special requirements, inform us at booking and remind your guide at the start of the tour.
- Most guides also have paypal / venmo for a digital tip.
- Tour starts inside Gastrovino cheese shop in the wine basement.
- Herring available until 16:00 start time due to opening times.
- Easy to reach: 8 min walk from Dam Square, 5 min from Rokin Metro. Uber/taxi drop-off close to entrance. No hotel pickup included.

- Walking food tour: This tour covers approximately 1.5 miles (2.5 km) on foot with at least 5 tasting stops along the way. Not all stops have seating available, so guests ideally should be comfortable walking and standing. Also eateries might have steps and small stairs. Mobility challenges? For a shorter route a private tour is recommended (please inform us! ).
- Allergies: Most stops offer excellent vegetarian and pescatarian options. Gluten-free is possible at ~70% of stops before 16:00 — for a fully gluten-free Amsterdam food tour, the private option is best so we can design every stop around you. Peanut, shellfish, and nut allergies are usually not a problem, but please tell us so we can confirm with venues (e.g., ask to skip pesto). Share any allergies in the special wishes section when booking, and kindly remind your guide at the start of the tour. While most venues are accommodating, cross-contamination is possible in shared kitchens.
