We'll visit a coffee plantation in Guatapé, where we learn from local farmers everything about the coffee process, from sowing the seed to drinking a cup of coffee, there you can collect the coffee and being for a while a coffee farmer. As we are in Guatapé, we have to go to the rock We continue heading to the boulder, get ready to climb more than 708 steps to reach the top, that adorns the landscape of eastern Antioquia and enjoy a breathtaking 360 degrees view from the dam and surrounding areas to capture unforgettable pictures. Then we go to the town, where we enjoy lunch before strolling around the most important landmarks of a town full of color, friendly people and corners with fascinating stories that we are going to share with you, how the tradition of "zócalos" (house facades painted) started and why is important for the inhabitants; if you are a chocolate lover, there's a shop waiting for you, also you will have time to buy handicraft from the local stores.

We had a small group tour with Yuli and it was fantastic! Exploring the Zócalos, and El Peñol and getting to climb la Piedra de El Peñol were all terrific, as was learning from Yuli about life, the food and local culture, but the real highlight was the coffee farm. Learning and taking part in the collection, sorting, grinding and ultimately drinking the amazing coffee was a real treat and Yuli was so kind, helpful and fun!

Don’t hesitate to book this trip immediately! Yesterday we spent a day with Henry, a native of Medellin, and one of the warmest, most generous people we’ve ever met. With genuine enthusiasm, he shared stories of the region’s rich history, and offered a window into daily life here, not just for locals generally, but for his own family as well. After over 12 wonderful hours together, we came to appreciate how deeply woven family, kindness, and connection are into Colombian culture. We started off the tour going to a lovely petting zoo where we got to feed alpacas and goats carrots, and soon after, hiking up La Piedra de Peñol, taking in the breath taking views from the top. Later, we went on a beautiful boat ride where Henry narrated so we felt like we had an understanding of the history of the lake, and the exciting developments occurring there today. Then we went on an incredible coffee tour with coffee farmer Nubia, and our ears were filled with her laughter and pure joy as we went through the lush fields of coffee plants. We learned so much and had such a blast. We have taken a lot of tours, but this was our favorite we’ve ever been on.

This is a great full day experience, and Julio is a fantastic guide. Honestly would have expected it to cost twice as much - you definitely get a well-filled day of activities and touring. Well suited for kids - we brought our 8 and 10 year olds. Do bring shoes that can get muddy for the coffee plantation!

Had the best day with Julio! Got to climb up piedra del Penol, explore town of Guatape, and tour a coffee farm to experience the process firsthand and have excellent Colombian coffee :) Guatape was so charming I didn’t want to leave. Julio gave lots of great info and was always accommodating, friendly and fun. Would highly recommend the Guatape & Coffee tour and Julio as a guide!

The tour was more than we could have hoped for. From the guide's experience, to the whole trip, Guatapé was well worth it.

Oscar was the best tour guide in Colombia hands-down. He was super knowledgeable and very friendly and got us in wherever we needed to go ahead of the crowds and he took pitstops for us to see extra events along the way such as feeding the llamas and the Koi fish! Which was a fantastic and fun experience

I can’t recommend this tour enough. Oscar is extremely knowledgeable and super friendly - the perfect tour guide. The coffee farm was very thorough and hands on and the walk around Guatape was beautiful. Tasting local fruits and stopping to see the llamas were great additions. Great way to spend a day.
