Wanaka 4x4 Explorer: Ultimate Off-Road Lake & Mountain Views

Hard to describe how stunning this trip was. Guides are great, views are once in a lifetime. Highly recommend this to everyone.

Amazing tour. Tour guides were excellent, friendly and very knowledgeable. Boat ride across the lake and 4 wheel drive experience was just amazing. Morning tea was delicious and had the best views. Would recommend trying this if you come to Wānaka

We had an amazing time on the Wanaka Water Taxi and 4X4 Explorer tour. Krystal was awesome to coordinate with and is a great boat captain. We met at the dock. Krystal and Tony took us across Lake Wanaka to an exclusive area that only they have the authority to operate on. Tony took us up the steep incline to the top and some amazing panoramic views. The tour is for up to 4 people and that day is was just my wife and I. We highly recommend this breathtaking excursion and Krystal and Tony couldn’t have been any nicer!

Great adventure. Lovely trip across the lake, proper off road track drive up to scenic view points across lake, with several stop offs and interesting commentary along the way. Picnic at the top with amazing views over lakes and mountains. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

One of the highlights of our trip. We booked the 4x4 and Mou Waho tours back to back and really had a fantastic time. The guides were really informative and friendly. The 4x4 provided some thrilling driving to the most amazing lookout over the Lake and islands. The food was lovely and the experience didn't feel rushed at all. The afternoon to the island allowed a hike to the top to see the "island on a lake on an island on a lake on an island on an ocean!" Nice walk and great views, especially if you carry on up to the second lookout. Thanks to Wanaka Water Taxi for a fantastic day.

This was a great adventure! Thank you to Sean, Tony and Krystal for the wonderful boat ride and 4x4 ride up the mountain to not only see a beautiful landscape but to experience the strong and changing winds. They also served us a wonderful light lunch that was delicious. Everything was amazing! Would highly recommend. Great company to use.

We booked last minute, what a brilliant time and the scenery was fantastic. Shaun took us to the top of the mountain where only the people booked on the tour were able to go. His knowledge of the area and NZ is outstanding. The picnic at the top was well prepared. Worth every penny a must on your bucket list.

Fantastic tour with very friendly and knowledgeable guides. Amazing views from the water and the station. Climbed to about 1,000m in the 4WD for incredible views from the side of a mountain over Lake Wanaka. Highly recommended.

Thanks to tour guide Tony and skipper Hannah for a great experience. We were a group of four including two older but adventurous family members, and this outing was just the right amount of excitement and activity for them. Hannah and Tony made things safe and fun, we learned a lot from the both of them, the boat ride up the late to Mount Burke Station was super scenic, and the picnic next to the 4x4 vehicle up high on Mount Burke was a stunning experience.
