Auschwitz-Birkenau: Profound Guided Tour with Hotel Pickup

Bus arrived late, no apology from the driver, then he proceeded to drive like he was in a formula 1 race. The journey was very uncomfortable, he was exceeding speed limits (up to 75 kmp/h in a 50 limit!). There was a guide and a translator at the site who took the group around. The translator was very good however the actual guide didn’t speak at all, I really don’t understand the purpose of the guide lady! The return trip on the coach was more comfortable. Other than the trip there being late and uncomfortable and the guide purpose being unclear, the tour was very good.

When you book this, you are only booking the tour that they advertise and there is no guarantee that you will get an admission ticket. We were picked up at 3.40am (and not at our hotel as promised) and arrived at 5pm, where we had to wait until 6.30 for the gates to open. We then joined another queue for the ticket office to open at 7.30am. Our driver (he wasn't even the tour guide as they have their own), then purchased all our tickets for a tour starting at 8.30, so we then had another hour wait. My advice would be to book before you leave via the Auschwitz official site, but well in advance. We will be asking for a refund of the cost of not being picked up at our hotel. I also found our driver quite rude and not very helpful.

Our guide Anna was absolutely superb. I cannot rate her highly enough. She was not only extremely knowledgeable but showed great sensitivity throughout. Everyone in the world should visit here. This visit should also be on the curriculum for every school in the world. As a Jewish woman, I thought I knew everything that had happened here but I witnessed things that will remain in my memory until I die. Anna took us all on an unforgettable journey from Auschwitz right through to the gas chambers at Birkenau. I didn't take any photos as I personally thought it would be disrespectful but a few people did.

Driver pick up drop off excellent service . Auschwitz tour very good. Birkenau tour no audio support could not hear guide. But overall a good experience.

The auschwitz tour is an absolute 10/10 and so pleased we did it. We booked last minute and this was the only tour left. I read all of the reviews about the changes to a 3am pick up so when I got the text we were half prepared. The reason being they do not prebook your tickets and take you there extremely early to get in the queue for tickets. After travelling an hour and a half, we waited in the minibus for about 1 and a half hours to join the queue at 6.30am. We managed to get the 8.30am tour which was good. If you are prepared to possibly have to get up super early then go for it as we were first in line lol

Adrian not only picked us up at airport he enthusiastically advised us what tours to consider and what a difference where to eat if we wanted to try Polish food. I am so glad he did and given both his airport pick up and genuine passion for the area and potential trips we booked through him. The food he suggested was delicious and the trip to both auswvitz sites followed by the saltiness were amazing although tiring given the amount of walking but if we could manage it so can anyone although our legs still feel like jelly a few days later! Overall if you are lucky enough to have Adrian you are in good hands. A trip of a lifetime you bet! Thank you Adrian and his company.

The experience once in the place was great. The administration around it was a bit poor. We weren't given an explanation fully as to why and where to queue, and so followed everyone else.

The tour of Auschwitz wasn’t a problem, it’s a solemn place with a history that we should never forget or repeat. The tour operator however was terrible. We arranged a 10:10 pick up from our hotel and paid the money up front. On confirmation we were told that our pick up was 5:00! And furthermore they would not pick up from our hotel as the street was too narrow which is utter nonsense as vans and trucks regularly drove up our street. We had to either walk for 35 minutes across town or get an Uber to the designated pick up point, I might add that every other passenger was picked up from their hotel!! It was made very clear that if I didn’t confirm the trip, that we would have lost or money. As I paid for four people it would have been a big hit. Reluctantly I confirmed the trip. Avoid this company.

We booked this excursion through the Viator app for 10/10/2025, we picked the 8:10 slot for pick up however we were contacted the day before to advise this had changed to 11:30, we had no issues with this. The trip was well organised and included tickets. The tour guide was very professional and respectful throughout.
