Ravenna UNESCO Private Tour: Unforgettable Mosaic Wonders

Luana was an AMAZING tour guide for our party of four! She was educated on cultural preservation, had a passion for Ravenna history and the incredible mosaic found in the city. Luana was able to answer all our question and never rushed us through any sight. She was engaging and had a pleasant sense of humor. Finally, on our walk through the city, we also visited Dante’s mausoleum and she recommended a local restaurant (that was a great as her tour). Ravenna and Luana are great!

We had a full day tour of Ravenna & Classe with Luana who speaks excellent English. She is a very experienced , friendly and approachable guide with a great depth of knowledge on the historical context and meaning of the mosaics, churches & basilicas and mausoleums we visited. While we were reasonably prepared, there is a vast amount of visual information to soak in and Luana made it both very interesting and digestible. Understanding the context and meaning of the mosaics was made much easier with Luana's explanations. Highly recommended as a guide for one of the most beautiful cities of art in Italy.

Every traveller to Italy should see Ravenna’s mosaic treasures, and when you go make sure to book Luana as your guide! My wife and I and our three young adult children had a remarkable experience we are still marveling over. The UNESCO monuments are astonishingly beautiful and moving. Luana brought them to life for our family with her deep understanding of the history, art and architecture along with her delightful conversation. She let us explore each of the sites at a leisurely pace and answered all of our questions thoughtfully. We are so grateful to Luana for guiding us through this amazing adventure. We booked a tour with Luana after reading the great reviews on this site and we were not disappointed! Luana was the perfect guide for us. She paced the afternoon perfectly to take account of our mobility and the sweltering heat, allowing us to stop for refreshment as we wished and arranging lift access in a couple of locations to save us too many stairs. She is hugely knowledgeable about Ravenna and of course the wonderful mosaics as well as being an altogether charming person. It was a pleasure to spend time with her.

We thoroughly enjoyed our private tour with Luana. The churches are incredibly beautiful and Luana is an excellent guide, very knowledgeable. We are older and I’m recovering from a burnt foot so we appreciated her thoughtfulness. (She spoke to the staff where an elevator was available and called us taxi at the end of the tour.)
