Highly recommend! We booked fairly last minute without doing much research (after getting a good feeling from a few reviews), and this tour exceeded all of our expectations. First, our tour guide, Leo, was excellent; extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Mayan culture. Second, we could tell this company puts a lot of thought into its tours, and in our experience got the little things right. For example, we were instructed to wait in the air conditioned van while we waited to depart while we saw other tour groups sitting outside in an area with lots of mosquitos. Another example was providing local snacks and a cooler of drinks, and we also appreciated how our guide provided a sampling of different fruits at one of our stops, rather than just leaving us to figure out what to purchase and likely missing out on what turned out to be several delicious different options. Lastly, we were a little concerned about the drive time, but the driver was great, the roads better than expected, and the time went quickly with Leo providing lots of interesting information.

My husband and I just did this tour during our MSC Seashore cruise. I can't speak highly enough of our guide, Fabiola (forgive me if the spelling is incorrect!) She was amazing. She had so many facts to present, and her backpack was filled with even more information to share. The ride there was great. Our driver did a great job as well. The ruins were spectacular and accessible. I would certainly recommend this to everyone.

We ended up with a ‘private’ tour due to no others joining us. Carol did a fantastic job and gave us a ton of information. She patiently took all our kids questions and did really well speaking the language. The only real issue we had was finding her once off the ship. The port is chaos and you have to go through and back about two blocks bc they aren’t allowed in that area. But once we found her, it was smooth sailing.

One of the best excursions we’ve ever done. Julio and Francisco were excellent guides. Never rushed and enjoyed the day. We actually did the combo that included Bacalar Lagoons. Amazing day.

Hot day, but we got started as soon a we got off the boat. Francisco was super friendly and informative of the area's history. Van had excellent AC. Drive is about 45m minutes on a straight road. Husband saw a huge tarantula run across the road. Drinks and snacks offered multiple times on the trip. He said they were buying another mini bus to accommodate larger groups. Offered to take us downtown, but it was too hot for our liking so he brought us directly to the port gate.

Our family of 5 joined this tour on August 25, 2025. It was a great tour, we got to see the Chacchoben ruins, got fresh fruit from local fruit store and got some very unique hot sauces from local farmer. Our guide Carol was amazing. She gave us a lot a details about the history not only for the ruin, but places around that area. We greatly appreciate Carol's hospitality. We highly recommend this tour if your cruise stop by Costa Maya.

Here’s a polished 5-star review you could post: ⸻ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our tour of Chacchoben with Corona was absolutely fantastic! He was incredibly knowledgeable about the Mayan history, culture, and ruins, and shared everything in such an engaging way that made the site come alive. Beyond being informative, he was warm, friendly, and a great conversationalist, which made the entire experience feel personal and enjoyable. What really stood out was how thoughtful and attentive he was—he even went out of his way to get us bug spray when he anticipated mosquitos might be a problem. That kind of care shows how much he looks out for his guests. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide. If you’re visiting Chacchoben, ask for Corona—you’ll be in great hands!

The passion of our guide Leo for nature and history was impressive! We were a group of six: elderly people and us parents with our teenagers. From booking the excursion until the first meeting: everything went very smoothly and was clearly explained, which was very reassuring when booking with a third party in a country unknown to us as tourists. Our guide Leo was incredibly passionate. He shared his extensive knowledge about the Maya culture and pointed out various details. How passionate can you be as a guide when you find yourself filming the monkeys alongside your guests? This only shows how much joy he takes in the story he tells. It feels very genuine. We felt very well treated and warmly welcomed. The snacks and drinks were also a refreshing treat. I can only recommend this company. Leaving early and enjoying the ruins in complete peace and privacy was truly incredible and magical. When we were leaving, we saw the tourist buses pouring in, and we were so glad to have had the privacy of our own guide. In short: highly recommended—don’t hesitate 😍
