Big Island Grand Tour: Volcanoes, Waterfalls & History

Wish it would have included some of the north/ west beaches. Would have been nice to include a little map so that we could follow along and take notes and know where we have been and are going to next

We joined a one-day tour of the Big Island and it was an amazing experience. The schedule was very well thought out – we were able to see all the major sights of the island in one day without feeling rushed. Our guide, Mieshia, was incredibly nice and managed the time perfectly. He shared Hawaii’s history in such a lively and engaging way that it really brought the island to life for us. The highlight was definitely Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park – such a unique and unforgettable place to visit. The tour bus was very comfortable, and they provided good food and plenty of water. For first-time visitors to the Big Island, I would highly recommend this tour!

This was the best and most informative way to learn about the Big Island. Stefan was our driver/guide and he did a great job in keeping our group interested, informed and energized to be able to go the distance. He is a pro at what he does and it takes a special type of people person to captivate a diverse group for an entire day. We had only one full day on the Big Island during our Hawai’i vacation. We decided to take this tour so we could hit the highlights and plan for any future trips when we might have more time. We had a great tour. It was perfect for a day and we appreciated that we didn’t have to drive, figure out where to go or worry about paying entry fees or parking fees. Kevin was a fantastic guide and host. They served a nice hot lunch, plenty of snacks, and water & juice. Kevin knew all about the island and entertained us with stories and legends during the longer driving portions of the drive around the island. I would definitely recommend this tour to others and would even repeat it again. The price was extremely fair and the service went above and beyond.

This is an excellent way to experience the big island in one day. There is much more to see. My wife and I enjoyed the various sites. It was a long day, 11 hours / 300 miled, but understandable in scope of what we we able to experience and well worth the time spent. Our tour guide was very engaged with the clients and asked/ answered questions to great degree while exposing the diverse culture and geology of Hawaiii.

We did the Big Island Grand Circle Island Tour with Wasabi tours and had a wonderful time! Our tour guide, Derek S., was so incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, funny and kind! We were so impressed by his knowledge of the island, the Hawaiian culture and language, and so many interesting points of interest that we hadn’t heard of or read about before. We saw so many turtles on the black sand beach. The volcano’s national park was gorgeous! Derek showed us the unique phenomenon of Pele’s hair that occurs during an eruption. The stops at the falls were so beautiful too. We really felt that Derek planned the trip perfectly, maximizing our time to the fullest. We could not have planned this better on our own.

Had a wonderful time. Learned so much about the history of Hawaii. Kono Chris is the best tour guide ever. Great story teller and funny as heck. Couldn’t ask for a better experience!!!!

Derek our tour guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Wear comfortable shoes and bring some warm clothing to wear at the volcano site, as it is windy and cool.

This was a 300 mile, 11 hour tour of interest points around the island. Our guide, Justin I believe, was engaging with the party and very knowledgable about the cultural, biological, and geological aspects of the tour. I would highly recommend.

This was a fantastic way to see so much of the island and so many attractions! Kerry was a fabulous guide in every way!
