Breathtaking Huacachina & Ballestas: Peru's Desert-Ocean Duo

The first pickup of the day was on time and as scheduled, that was an excellent start. When we got to the main bus it is everything as described and more. These are proper reclining seats for the long haul trip that this is. Franklin and the Peru Hop staff really put together an excellent trip. The boat ride to Paracas and the Dune Buggy ride at Huacachina are worth every cent and more. Life is about experiences and memories and for my wife (Akleema) and I this was an unforgettable experience.

The tour was perfect - well organized, excellent bus and amazing tour guide (Franklin) who shared a lot of information about Peru.

It was a nice experience! We've enjoyed the boattour at Paracas and afterwards the sandbuggies and sandboarding. Franklin took very good care of us and made sure everything was fine. Thanks!

I had an incredible day trip to Paracas and Huacachina with our amazing guide Franklin. Everything was well-organized, fun, and full of breathtaking views — from spotting sea lions and penguins at the Ballestas Islands to the thrilling dune buggy and sandboarding adventure in Huacachina. Franklin’s energy and knowledge made the experience unforgettable. Highly recommend this tour and guide!

A great day filled with animals, good food, thrilling dune buggying and a unique experience of sand boarding. I couldn’t recommend this tour enough as it includes anything you could possibly want to do in these areas! Even the buffet lunch was great! Only call out is that pick ups are quite early so make sure you pack a breakfast. We were with Angela and Jorge and they made the experience incredibly enjoyable!

Well organised bus schedule and activities with good communication throughout. Felt safe and stress free at all our destinations. I got to experience Peru in a much more diverse way than simply flying from Lima to Cusco. Peru is so much more than Machu Picchu and I had a wonderful time at all our stops along the way to Cusco. Tour guides are very knowledgeable and passionate about their culture and it reflects in their interactions with us. Juancho, Jocelyn, Franklin and Milo were wonderful. I had Juancho for about 3 of my bus rides and he went out of his way to provide tour/activity/food suggestions and even took us on a walking tour while in Arequipa of his own free will, which was really nice.

Fio was an amazing tour guide!!! She went above and beyond ensuring we all knew what to expect at each location, informed us of what to bring at each stop, confirmed each meetup location and was the perfect photographer!!! The tour is a great way to see and experience both sites! I’d love to have a little bit more time at the first location otherwise everything was perfect!

Expensive for what it is but still had a great day. Fio was great! If you’re on a budget though this is prob not for you also bus is pretty standard not luxury like advertised

Well planned tour, lots of travel on the very nice air-conditioned bus with wifi. The Paracas boat tour showed us lots of sealions swimming around the islands and in the open water. The highlight was the Huacachina desert dune buggy tour, skis and snowboards can be rented for around 50 sol, although the boards included in the ticket were very fun. Fio was a great tour guide and kept all of us organised and on the right path smiling all the way! Would recommended this tour for people with a whole day spare in Lima!

Fio was our guide today. She took very good care of us an made sure that everybody is involved and happy. The boat ride was great to see Humboldt penguins and sealions. The oasis and the buggy tour through the dunes where also a lot of fun and well organized.
