Price From $60.00 per person
Lowest Price Guarantee
We begin this journey doing the international rout N°7 with the imposing view of the Potrerillos Dam. The next point on the route will be Uspallata; former pre-Hispanic settlement of aboriginal Huarpe people and now current head village of this mountain route. From this point, the southernmost of the Inca Empire, we go to the villages of Picheuta, Polvaredas, Punta de Vacas and the former Penitentes ski resort. Further along our rout, we’ll come to Puente del Inca, a unique natural rock formation, surrounded by thermal springs, that looks like a bridge over Las Cuevas River. A few kilometers away, located at 2750 m, is the viewponit of the Colossus of the Americas, which with its 6962 m, receives visitors from all over the worldwho wants to reach its summit. Finally we will arrive at Las Cuevas villa, located at 3200 m. to have our lunch and tour one of the authentic villages of our country. *Argentinian passangers, please remember you will be charged in US Dollars from Viator.

The trip was fine, guide and driver were excellent, but this company plays loose with the rules. After I paid for the trip, I was informed that I would have to pay an additional amount for “lunch.” That additional amount was $30USD, which, it turns out, was the price of a bowl of risotto and a small glass of wine. When I questioned the amount, I was told that they “upgraded” the trip and that was why they added the charge for lunch. Shady company, and I paid, but wasn’t happy about it.

We had so much fun! My cousin and I went with a group of other ladies celebrating the 50th anniversary of the graduation from high school, and they were a hoot! Our guide was fluent in both Spanish and English, and was extremely knowledgeable about the area we toured. I work on complex water supply and water quality issues in the Western U.S., and it was fun to learn how similar issues (reservoir management, dredging, flooding, mining, deep regional groundwater contributions to the runoff flow) are handled upstream of Mendoza. The history of the railroads-government-economics and how it impacted travel and the existence of small towns along the tracks was fascinating. We had clear skies and some snowy mountains on the way up, and a snowstorm chased us back down the mountain after we had a chance to see all the things and eat a satisfying lunch. We had just visited a museum the previous day that showed Darwin's maps of the region (making my geologist heart very happy), so it was great to see the mountains and outcrops he had described. It was perfect.

Overall it is a nice excursion. Expect to spend lot of time in the bus. Our tour guide Paula was the best so Carlito the driver. Our coach was noisy and a bit dated.

Prompt pick up in the bus and even though this tour was predominantly in Spanish, the host was fantastic at English and gave me the highlights throughout the tour which were plentiful and genuinely interesting info about the mountains and history of the landscape! We stopped at lots of beautiful (if slightly touristy) spots which were great opportunities to see/take pictures of the views. Definitely bring snacks and water as it is a long day! Ensure to bring warm clothes (trousers, jumper, coat, hat) as it is cold up at the high altitude points of the trip! Really enjoyed this trip as a solo traveller, was a great way to see all the main sights I wanted to in this area and it was great value for money!

Federico and Daniel and wonderful guide and driver. Very caring, knowledgeable and organised. On top of the hole and the views, we enjoyed a nice pic nic with a glass of malbec and a sampling of alfajores!

A fabulous trip to Aconcagua with stunning scenery. Frederico was an excellent and informative guide and we were in a safe pair of hands with Robert as our driver. Thank you for a memorable day!

We had a fantastic day with guide Federico and driver Mauricio. Great views at the dam, the lake, the mountains, Puente del Inca and as absolute topsite the view at the Aconcagua! Very well organized trip, great timing (!) from the guide and driver. It was worth the drive. Alexander & Pauline

A good day in terms of seeing spectacular scenery…. And ease of organisation from our hotel and drop off. We really appreciated. We thought we’d booked an English translation but this was delivered as a phone message to read and very limited. The scenery was breathtaking and so good value in this respect - but the lunch stop off was very poor food ( although cheap). We missed all of the conversation and tour guide information as the day was purely Spanish …. And not made clear at the point of booking
