Felt cheated that management did not tell us that basilica would be closed after 11.30, when the tour started at 10.30. They knew in good time but pretended that the Vatican ordered the shut down immediately.

Viator books you with a local guide. There are several different ones we made several of them in Paris and Rome. Some youtube channels who have their own private guides tell you there is no "beat the line" but every one we did, we went express right in passing everyone. Our guide for this one was great she kept up with every one and gave a lot of very good information. I would highly recommend her. Her name was Laura, she works for City Wonders.

Gio was an excellent tour guide! Very knowledgeable. Kept us all entertained while learning so much about the incredible collection of art surrounding us. She set a good pace for the young and the less physically able so that everyone enjoyed the tour. It is about 3 hours long with a lot of walking but not too hard. Plenty of restroom breaks.

Oxinia was our tour guide. This tour was very informative and absolutely breathtaking. We absolutely loved the tour and all the history we learned from Oxinia who was very knowledgeable and funny. This is a must do tour.

The tour was great, very impressive art and architecture. Maria took us to her favorite places in the Vatican and gave a lot of background information that we did not know. Maria was very knowledgeable, professional, and kind. She made sure to give the option of using an elevator when possible because I use crutches and stairs can be difficult. Maria is a beautiful person inside and out, and she was easy to understand with a lovely accent. I highly recommend asking for her for a tour.

Wear comfortable shoes. Lots of walking and standing. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and thorough.

A brilliant tour, would highly recommend the guided tour option, the guide was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about ancient Rome and made the visit a fascinating experience.

Tour guide, Maria, was excellent. She was very knowledgeable and took us to places in the Vatican museum that were normally not on the list of activities. She also gave us excellent advice about how to get into the basilica since it was closed during our tour.

AMAZING semi private tour - guide was very knowledgeable and guided us to see so many amazing things.

- St Peter’s Basilica & Sistine Chapel are subject to last-minute closures for religious ceremonies. When this occurs, we're happy to offer customers an extended tour of the Vatican Museums. While we endeavour to tell tour groups ahead of time if there are any planned disruptions to the Basilica's opening hours, this is not always possible and in these cases we are unable to provide refunds or discounts.
- On Wednesday mornings, access to St. Peter’s Basilica is not included due to the Papal Audience. Entry is only possible after 1:00 PM.
