I saw lots of dolphins. They gave everyone a voucher for a free trip later. enjoyed the company and, friendly, kind staff.

Great experience. Good knowledgeable crew and the vessel was stable. Had a good time on board. Do this for sure

A beautiful day! Smooth waters with three main encounters: hammer head shark, whale sightings, and a "work up" with numerous dolphins, driving birds and at least 1 more whale. Knowledgeable staff, terrific captains guiding the boat for top notch viewing taking care to limit stress on the wildlife. Vessel was comfortable with enough room for all to view even with a fairly full outing

It’s a must do. Fantastic day out with amazing crew. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Got to see sharks, whales, dolphins and blue penguins. Viator contributes to conservation and research. Will definitely recommend it and Viator to anyone visiting in Auckland.

Good but sick of headings about Australians. We pay our way and accept NZ folk in our country even have them in our families why continue to say negative stuff. I heard it decades ago and still today. You have a lovely country and lovely people but terrible management of this issue. Disappointed.

We had a terrific time. Saw lots of dophins (including little babies) but no whales (not anyone’s fault). The boat is comfortable, the crew is super friendly and we really enjoyed it. I especially appreciated the heads up when the weather for our initial date looked like it would be too rough, and they allowed me to move our time to the next day. That was really thoughtful and I am grateful for it.

It was a wonderful experience and it felt close to nature. Also felt the high need for everyone to conserve nature.

Amazing experience! The crew was so helpful and the amount of dolphins we were able to see was incredible.

My wife and I like all sorts of wildlife watching: birds, animals, on land and at sea, so we always fit in some trips while on holiday. If it’s a boat trip, all the better. My wife had looked out Auckland Whale and Dolphin Safaris in the early stages on planning our New Zealand trip. It was a fitting end to 5 fantastic weeks in Aotearoa. We particularly liked the company’s emphasis on also doing research and conservation work. The crew were all very knowledgable, with the two ladies who shouldered most of the commentary and presentation load being particularly good. We saw the majority of the wildlife in the middle part of the trip, once we’d motored across towards the Coromandel, but as we spent so much time there, that was fine. We saw a Bryde’s Whale (a number of times), lots of Common Dolphin, Flesh-Footed Shearwater, Australasian Gannets and Storm Petrels The early start wasn’t a problem for us (0730 boarding, for the morning trip) as we were staying about 10 minutes walk from the wharf. A very good trip, which we would probably consider doing again, if we weren’t starting our mammoth journey home tomorrow.

The crew were good, knowledgeable and kind to the people on board. We lucked out and only saw dolphins, but you can’t pick these things. It was an overcast day, and I didn’t think too much about it, but wear sunscreen! I am paying for it currently, with 2nd degree burns to the shins. No one’s fault but my own!
