The tour was very insightful. You get a good background as to why the catacombs were created and extra history linked to it. Sylvie did a great job and was very insightful!

Sabina was an excellent guide. It was interesting learning about the catacombs and the layers of life in Rome.

Lots of stairs and uneven ground but worth it. Fascinating history and our guide, Sabina, was very informative and fun.

Maria did an amazing job of getting us to each location and providing information along the way. Since both locations as sacred, the tours in the spaces were conducted by the location. The history and information learned is unforgettable. The emotional impact it has to deeply understand if life changing. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone.

As per most of the other reviews, the tour starts out on a somber note with the Capuchin crypt, which I believe is in order to set the tone of mortality. Andy (Andrea) was an amazing tour leader. He was not only knowledgeable about the places that we visited but also very funny in how he presented the information, which I imagine would be hard to do given the focus on death. As we passed to the catacombs, he adeptly demonstrated the multiple layers of history that led to the original pagan creation of the crypts and then their adoption by the Christians over the following centuries. Andy pointed out the most important sites and described them in perfect historical detail, again with a wit and sense of humor that lightened the atmosphere as we meandered through the ancient labyrinth. The final part of the tour demonstrated again how history in Rome builds itself layer upon layer as we went into a 3rd century church in a former home of a Roman patrician convert, with the original mosaic floors still visible. Again, Andy kept the atmosphere light and yet serious. This tour, from my perspective, is an exploration of the early Christian church's evolution and concepts regarding mortality and the fleeting nature of life. There is however a lot of walking up hills (to be expected in Rome), so... if you are Mobility-challenged it might not be for you. Personally I wanted to see the frescoes of Orpheus that are supposedly down there... but that's just me

So interesting ! I actually booked bc my son wanted to see the “skulls” but wow! The history behind it all and the message that was given , truly a great experience! Andre (Endi? ) was great at explaining ! Truly a wonderful tour !

Fun and informative but the guide was very lengthy in her explanations at time which cause my younger kids to get bored. She was very nice but feel like a more upbeat and funnier guide might have been better suited to keep the kids engaged.

This was the only tour of my Rome trip that did not provide head sets to hear the guide. It was difficult to hear the guide for the first part in Piazza Barbarini/Cappuchin crypts because of the busy area. The guide waits outside for the cappuchin crypt part, no contribution besides getting the group to skip the line. The group size itself is also too large - at the second stop of the underground catacombs, people at the back could not see what the guide was describing along the way. This tour ran multiple groups at the same time, and piles everyone into one bus for transfer to each of the stops. The male guide of the other group made rude comment about my clothing as a joke to which my group’s guide laughed. Geez, these guides are really welcoming to tourists to your beautiful city! Between the issues with the tour itself and the rude guides, I would avoid and visit the sites individually, or book a different tour operator. The basilica final stop leaves you in kind of a weird place near the vicinity of Termini station - for our afternoon tour this is not the part of the city anyone would recommend you be in.
