Beyond Ordinary: Johannesburg's Ultimate 7-9 Hr Journey

Opa met me at my hotel in Sandton at the alloted time. The van was clean and very comfortable along with a cooler filled with chilled water. The tour was very enjoyable and Opa definitely knew his subject and was able to answer my barrage of questions. He was also an excellent photographer and took photos for all attendees encouraging us to take some great shots. We explored a number of places which for me was extremely emotive and left me questioning how people could be so forgiving given the history of what happened in South Africa. That being said, it was a long day but was worth every penny and I would encourage anyone visiting to take the ultimate tour which includes the Apartheid Museum.

Highly recommend! I had two days in Johannesburg and decided to spend my first day touring with Mo — and it was the best decision I could have made. From start to finish, the day was thoughtfully planned and incredibly informative. Mo brought South Africa’s history to life in a way that was engaging, honest, and deeply meaningful. It was truly a humbling experience. I walked away with a much deeper understanding of the country, its past, and its people. If you’re visiting Joburg and want more than just sightseeing , ifyou want real insight and perspective, this is absolutely the tour to book.

Amazing must-do tour when visiting Johannesburg. The tour encompassed all the important attractions, but it never felt rushed. Mo, our guide was professional, personalable, and a fountain of knowledge. His story-telling skills at the Hector Pieterson brought me to the verge of tears. It was wonderful to learn about the history of Johannesburg, and the Apartheid museum was very educational. What was the most eye-opening part of the tour was the visit to Soweto, and seeing how the community lives in Kliptown. And unforgettable experience. Five stars!

Great experience!! Mo was an excellent guide, told us all about SA history and culture, and took great pictures of me haha. I feel like the tour covered all the important spots to visit in Johannesburg, and it was very practical for me as a solo traveler! Definitely recommend!!!

My husband and I arrived 2 days early for a tour in Namibia and used the opportunity to explore Johannesburg. This full day tour, with Mo as our guide, was a comprehensive introduction to the city and surrounding area. Mo is very knowledgeable about the history of the country, which is what we were interested in as this was our first visit to South Africa. Would highly recommend this tour and Mo as a guide.

Experience was fabulous. Our guide was outstanding. Got to see the good and the bad of Johannesburg and its surrounding areas. Always felt safe with the tour and the van was comfortable. The lunch in Soweto was a great opportunity for authentic foods and having the guides for the apartheid and Mandela museums was a necessity. I would highly recommend this tour.

It was a very personal, one on one experience, the guides were knowledgeable and able to answer questions and speak extensively about all aspects of the sites we visited as well as putting things in the proper historical context. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone who wants an elevated experience.
