Ocho Rios: Ultimate Blue Hole & Dunn River Falls Adventure

Very good tour, well organised and worth the money. The staff were very accommodating and looked after us. Water shoes are required for this tour however if needed they will take you to a shop so you can purchase these.

If you are considering this trip, make sure to pack "real" water shoes with a good grip. If you think crocs are ok, you're wrong. The first stop on the tour is a shop where they tell you that real water shoes are a must, or you won't be able to take part.

We had an amazing time on this tour. Both places are must-sees. This was my first time on an “unofficial” cruise excursion but couldn’t tell the difference. Everything was well-organized and went smoothly, and I’d argue it was better than the cruise offerings. Bring plenty of cash for all of your guides- they earn 100% of it! (Some people may think they are “pushy” reminding you about tipping, but this is their livelihood and they definitely earn every penny you want to give.) We had 2 guides at Blue Hole, 2 at the falls, plus our guide and driver from the bus. There was also a photographer/videographer at each place; you could buy from them at the end for $30-40. We didn’t bring enough cash with us but were able to use Apple pay for a lot of things, and able to tip our guide + driver at the end with a credit card. (A lot of vendors accepted Venmo/PayPal/Cash App/Zelle as well.) Everyone along the way was so lovely. Highly recommend! Shoutout to our bus guide Sunshine for keeping us entertained and smiling.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the falls, the guide was very helpful and professional and ensured our safety. Great fun, so beautiful (and refreshing!). Get there early to beat the crowds.

The tour was adventurous, challenging, and so fun! The guides were patient, knowledgeable, and very helpful! They were punctual and cognizant of the time, which helped us to relax. We had a great day!! Highly recommend this tour with this company!!

I had climbed Dunns River Falls in 1997 so I wanted to do it again. I was unsure if I would make it but the guide at Dunns River encouraged me and got me to the top. I enjoyed Dunns River Falls more than blue hole and I didn’t do the big jumps at Blue hole. Next time I would probably just do Dunns River Falls.

Fantastic excursion! Everything was well organized, the guides were friendly and knowledgeable, and the experience was enjoyable from start to finish. Beautiful scenery definitely one of the highlights of our trip — highly recommend!

The tour itself was fun, on both legs the guides were incredibly pushy on tipping to the point where it was uncomfortable.

Our driver Craig was great. He took us to some nice local spots. The limestone was the best. The blue hole was scarier than expected but still fun. The photographer Peter at the Dunn falls had great energy.

Ask around among workers at the port to find your driver. Kool Jamaica tours provided a wonderful van and nice friendly driver. Pleasant easy drive to Dunn’s river falls first. They paired us with a guide and photographer who were lots of fun. The weather was chilly, and so was the river and waterfalls. But you get used to it soon and it was easy to forget about the temperature when looking at the natural beauty of the falls. You do have to walk the gauntlet of vendors after the tour on the way back to the parking lot. No one was mean or unsafe. Blue hole was less touristy, but a similar pleasant experience with a guide and photographer. Lots of jumping into the pools from above. The highest about 15 feet, but most about 5 feet or so. Again, everything felt relaxed and easy, its moderate activity, not for anyone with mobility issues, but otherwise not too strenuous. Our driver stopped at Linda’s for jerk chicken at our request. I tipped the driver and the guide at each stop. Photos were $40 at each stop by the photographers they sent with us. Alternatively you could take your own photos with waterproof camera or phone case. Aside from the weather, we had no complaints. We enjoyed our first ever visit to Ocho Rios and the falls and Blue hole.
