Epic Angkor Wat Sunrise: 2-Day Small Group Temple Adventure

Like many, this was the reason for my visit to Cambodia, to see Angkor Wat. I opted for the sunrise/sunset tour to give me maximum exposure to the complex and the chance to capture at least one special moment. Day one was action packed but not overwhelming. Day two was fabulous given that I saw incredible views of Angkor Wat from 5am and visited other temples on the site. Our guide, Mr Sak was so knowledgeable and had many hints and tips for maximum enjoyment in the site. Furthermore he is an incredible photographer so I not only have incredible memories of the tour but beautiful photos to show too. Mr Black, our driver, drove us carefully around the site and always greeted us on return to the bus with cold bottles of water and wet towels laced with local tiger balm, which were the most welcome and needed gift after touring the site in the heat. I cannot recommend this trip highly enough, nor my guide and driver. Approaching Angkor Wat before dawn along a dark path, super early to get the best seat to witness sunrise is something that will stay with me forever.

I’ve been fortunate enough to travel extensively, and this is one of the best tours I’ve ever done! Not only is the Angkor Wat complex extremely special to experience, but Sak and Mr. Black took very good care of us. The trip was so comfortable and we got to see so many different impressive sites - I really appreciated that we could get the local knowledge and history as well. I would highly recommend this trip!

Pal was amazing! So informative and positive. He and the driver, Mao, were always handing us an ice cold cooling towel or a water after our temple visits. They were quite concerned about everyone on our tour. 10/10 would highly recommend!

This tour was amazing! Our guide Pal was brilliant, and driver Mao too. We got to see many temples over the two days, where they explained history and details of each place. We also got cold water and cold towels throughout the days which was a lifesaver in the heat! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone!

Pal Saroun was a fantastic guide. He showed us all the key sights at Angkor Archeological site. He also tells appalling jokes to avoid the temple fatigue. A great guide and what a place. Special mention also to the driver Mr K.

Guide Sak and driver Naroo were the perfect tour team. Sak’s local knowledge and story was brilliant - always able to answer questions and full of details. He was very patient, responsive and friendly. Made the two days fly by and got us front row seats for the sunrise over Angkor Wat. That’ll stay in my memory forever. Naroo’s calm and sure driving and navigation were very reassuring and he was always ready with a chilled bottle of water and cool towel. Would 100% recommend and very glad they led my visit. Loved it!
