Breathtaking Capri Boat Tour: Sorrento's Island Paradise Escape

Loved the tour - we got to see various sights and stops. We stopped by the blue grotto but didn’t go inside, however I was glad as the queue looked super long. We had a 3 hour stay in Capri which was great. Refreshments and swim stops were lovely too.

There are a lot of options when it comes to booking tours to Capri from Sorrento - it’s a bit mind boggling to be honest - but we’re really glad we booked this one through our hotel. It was a trip with a maximum of 12 people and we had only 10 on the day. I would recommend going for a smaller group like this if you can. Our captain Pasquale was great - at the meeting point at the harbour waiting for us, good fun all day, a fountain of interesting knowledge, and has a really nice boat (sorry this is about as technical as I get with Maritime matters…). The tour kicked-off along the coast near Sorrento, where you can have your first swim in the sea (if you want to - masks provided if you need them). We then headed across to Capri. You travel around half the island taking in the key points of interest - then you get off at Marina Piccola and have around 3 hours on the island to do what you want. When you arrive on shore you get a quick caprese sandwich (included in the price), before you head off on your own. Capri itself is beautiful (if busy) and you can easily spend a few hours walking around the island, shopping, looking at the superb vistas, and drinking coffees and Aperols (I’ve been bold making those last two items plural given the prices of them). I’d recommend getting a taxi at last one way to/from the centre as it’s a lot of fun - uphill makes most sense! You then head back to the Marina, get back on the boat, and have around 30 minutes for another swim. After this you tour around the other half of the island, before heading back to Sorrento. All in all it was around 7 hours. A great day out and well worth it.
