Private Longshen Terraces Tour: Breathtaking Views & Lunch

The trip to Longji Rice fields was spectacular and my tour guide was very good and knowledgeable. The reason I haven’t given 5 is because of the trip to the local minority village afterwards. The basic meal of rice with some boiled chicken (mostly bone) and a side of local green vegetables cost 155 yuan (more than any other meal in China, and even more than a comparable meal in London !), and it wasn’t that tasty, tbh. Also, the ladies with long hair asked 40 yuan to let their hair down and tie it back up again, which took a couple of minutes. It’s a shame that the villagers see tourists as an opportunity to rip them off, and it’s not typical of my experience of touring all around China. China and Chinese people have always been fair in my other dealings. My advice would be to wait until you return to Guilin (or wherever you are staying) to buy a more delicious and better value meal. And I leave it up to you whether you want to pay 40 yuan to see a lady undo her hair and tie it up again 😅

It’s great experience to see the rice’s farm and walk around the farm. The guide also gives information about other plants in the farm. It unique experience

The trip was okay, of course the rice fields are stunning but the organization was not the best. The guide first made a detour to a tea field, clearly owned by his friend, that took 1hour. Was interesting but not what we paid for and ended up delaying Everything. Moreover, he underestimated the amount if tourists at the rice fields, and instead of speeding things up, He took super long to do the Long hair village (which in my opinion is nothing interesting apart from the performance which you have to pay for) and we had the feeling he wanted to bring us and buy souvenirs from his friends. When we finally arrived ar the beginning of the rice field was already 2.15 pm and he did not want to stop for lunch (he was planning to have lunch again at his friends after the tour) so we had some snacks. The worst thing is that we did the tour of the rice field with the rain and fog, because he did not check the weather, while the whole morning was very sunny. Finally after the tour (5.30pm) he wanted to stop for lunch at his friends, clearly because he had free food there, forcing us to buy something while we just wanted to get back. We finally arrived at the hotel at 8pm. Overall: we suggest to do the rice field checking the weather evolution over the day and not accept any detour.

I recommend this trip at 100%, Sunny, our guide, was very nice, he explained us a lot of things about the Long rice terrace and the community living there ! He took care of us during the whole day and made our day incredible ! Thanks again

Great flexibility with timing and route. We started to tour 1-2 hours earlier and skipped lunch and the village due to time limits, and the guide adapted easily. Beautiful views throughout, especially walking down through the rice fields from the second viewpoint.

We booked this experience last minute (at 3:00 am in the morning) and we couldn’t believe that they actually pulled it off. At 9:00 am our tourguide Audrey picked us up at the hotel. And she was absolutely amazing! She spoke english very well and knew so much about just almost everything regarding the region and history. And she was always open to change the itinerary to your liking. Considering the price we paid and the last minute order we placed, we basically just got gifted a vip experience. Would definitely recommend! Especially if you wanna experience everything the local way. And the rice fields were one of the most beautiful sceneries I’ve ever seen. Stunning nature - 10 out of 10 experience 🥳

We had a wonderful experience visiting the Longji Rice Terraces. The landscape was breathtaking, and the rice fields were truly captivating. We were especially grateful to have Leo with us as our guide—he was knowledgeable, engaging, and made the trip even more enjoyable. The drive of over two hours to reach the terraces passed quickly thanks to our great conversations with Leo. Once there, Leo led us through the terraces and, at our request, even brought us to a charming tea house in the mountains.
