Unforgettable Salzburg: Salzach River View Cruise

Fun boat ride to see Salzburg from the water. Captain was entertaining and when the recorded scenery description wasn’t playing, he explained the workings of the river itself.

A reasonably entertaining time, some nice views but it was warm in the boat and didn't lend itself to picture taking in general. Fun fact, Sundays may have issues with low water levels from reduced hydroelectric generation. The captain did pull a fun ending with a Mozart waltz while spinning the boat thru multiple 360 turns.

Lovely boat ride. Not a lot to see really but still enjoyable. The skipper was really good and did a few twirls at the end on some classical music. Good value for money.

Crew were friendly and the overall experience was memorable. The trip started on time. The ground staff managed the trip very well.

Don't book through viator, they couldn't find our reservation. There is nothing special about it, but if you are lazy and dont wanna walk up the river street go for it.

Captain and crew were great and put on a good show with their boat to entertain and make what could have been quite an ordinary trip up river for a ways into a fun experience. Free in Salzburg pass. We loved the quirkiness and the friendliness of our hosts. Well worth an hour or so to experience the river. Try it 😎

The cruise was very informative and just gorgeous views. I also liked that all was explained in English and german as well had some non german speakers in the group. I would definitely recommend.

It was a very nice evening to view the city from the river. The process was organized, and the ending was surprising.

A thoroughly enjoyable 45-minute cruise along the river. The commentary was a mix of pre-recorded (in German and English) and commentary from the lady captain (started in German and English, added Spanish after a question from a member of the audience), and was a nice mix of history, humour and facts. Good views of villas on one side, and the commercial side of the city on the other. Fast running water created challenges for the pilot, with the outward section around 35 minutes, then 10 minutes back with the tide! Basic tickets are available for unreserved seating, with a handful of "premium" seats at the front and back (with a "free" drink included) - all have a good view because of the design of the vessel, built for this type of journey.
