Epic Peru Coast & Oasis: Ballestas & Huacachina Adventure

What an adventure!! So much fun it felt like 3 days in one. Bus was so comfortable to sleep on during travel. Julio the driver was a homie, and Angie was the nicest host, didn’t leave us behind but kept the group together! We recommend renting snowboards at the oasis. If u have experience with skiing or snowboarding there are skis and snowboards for rent. Thanks so much!!

Got picked up at my hostel and proceeded to have one of the best experiences I’ve had since visiting Lima. Our guide, Angie, was very helpful along with the driver, Julio. The boat ride was beautiful. Followed by a lunch with free wine tasting. Then we headed off to Huacachina where we got on a dune buggy and tried sand boarding. It was an incredible experience. It was so much fun. I would highly recommend booking this tour.

Our guide Arturo was amazing. Communicated everything clearly and through many channels so that the day moved smoothly and we had a good understanding of the plan and our options. He was calm and helpful and made the experience great. We got to see penguins, sea lions, starfish, and pelicans on the boat tour. The lunch option on route was well-priced. Food was so-so but it was a beautiful vineyard and the wine tastings were very fun. You can also choose to eat elsewhere but there isn’t a lot of time or other places that nearby, so we opted for pre-ordering at the suggested place, and I think it was the right decision. The buggy rides at Huachachina were WILD and definitely the best part. We did 2 hours. It was so fun and the sunset was breathtaking. I do wish they had suggested bringing a bandana or light scarf in the original packing list. Bring one if you have one. But you can also buy one cheaply there or go without. You’ll get sand in your stuff either way, but it’s worth it. Pre-ordering the dinner after the sand dunes worked well. We got the shrimp Alfredo pasta and it was good. The “free time” to explore was quite limited, but they were fitting in a lot in one day, so that’s fair. All in all, this was a good experience for a fair price. It was as-advertised, professional, clear and fun. I definitely recommend it!

Arturo was great!!! he was so amazing with making sure everyone had there questions answered and none was left behind. Also he had a kind personality that made you feel like he really wanted to make sure you were comfortable on this experience. Loveeeeed the tour the experience was one I will remember.

Arturo the best guide! Amazing day start in the morning with boat tour in the natural reserve. After lunch in the desert, tour in buggy and sandboard are top!

It was between 3&4. Its probably that I have had better similar experiences. Boat trip was definitely average. I did have the group meal together. But did join the wine tasting which was OK. Paid for 2 hr sandbuggy and sledging which I was disappointed with. Only 3 short rides going out, one in the middle and comming back. Stopped twice for snowboard sledging down the dunes. Groups to big spent loads of time waiting. Stopped for photos that lasted over 15/20 mins. Then stopped well early for sunset set. But didnt stay long enough to see clouds change colors. So very disappointed with this. Should have spent more time driving around the dunes.

The experience was perfect, extremely well planned and organized. Angie our tour guide reminded us of next steps all the time and spoke many languages. Would for sure book with them again.

Excellent tour, we really enjoy and the guide Angela was very kind, always said many info about everything. The buggy was awesome. The boat trip we saw leon-seals, penguins, lot of birds, beautiful landscapes,etc.. The driver Barto is very profissional.

Our day started early as my partner and I were the first clients to be picked up. Both Bart the driver and Angela our host were magnificent and knowledgeable Bart handled the road with care and skill and Angela made sure we stuck to our schedule and gave us salient nuggets of information in a timely manner. Highly recommend
