Hell's Gate Private Bike Safari: Wild Nairobi Cycling Adventure

I joined a one-day tour to Lake Naivasha and Hell’s Gate. My driver guide was Jimmy who worked responsibly and professionally throughout the day. He patiently answered all my questions about everything here and I was really happy that a local shares so much about how life here is. That is really rewarding - as someone from far away, I want to visit the spots, but other than that knowing people and their cultures makes the experience more eye-opening and worthwhile. Jimmy is truly friendly and accommodating. Would definitely him as a guide. The guide at Hell’s Gate Victor and John during the boat ride were nice too.

Made an online inquiry and received detailed information and confirmations via email and What’s App. Jimmy was an excellent driver. He communicated well and arrived on time for pickup. Once at Hell’s Gate, he helped select a bicycle for cycling and paired me with a knowledgeable guide to tour Hell’s Gate. Jimmy was there waiting when I returned from the Hell’s Gate tour; no need to call or message to find. Then, went to lunch and the boat ride at Lake Naivasha. Jimmy checked throughout the day to make sure that I was having a good time and if anything was needed.

Hell’s Gate is wild and beautiful—towering cliffs, open plains, and a gorge carved by time. We biked 18 km through it, spotting zebras, giraffes, baboons, impalas, buffalo, & rock hyraxes. Our guide, Edward, shared not just the route, but his deep knowledge of the land and local culture. The hike and climb through the gorge felt like stepping into another world. A powerful way to experience the landscape and spirit of this place. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had a great time at Hell's Gate National Park with Isaac and the guides in the park! Isaac was prompt and communicative, picking us up on time at our hotel. He was very knowledgeable of Nairobi and the country in general. Once we got to the park, we had an incredible time biking around and walking through the gorge. We saw a ton of wildlife - giraffes, zebras, impalas, baboons, etc. Afterwards, Isaac took us to a lunch spot which was great too. All in all, excellent tour!

I went to Hell‘s Gate national park for a safari bike tour and was not deceived: led by the park guide, another tourist and I discovered the volcano-shaped landscape, beautiful bolder rocks and the mesmerizing fauna in the midst of the small canyon-like scenery. Continuing by foot ins more protected zone, we also got to see the sceneries that inspired the movie makers of Tomb Raider II and the Lion King. Many many thanks to Nuru from Perfect Safaris for picking me up in he morning and bringing me to the sights. We had a joyful car ride and both interesting and heart-warming talks along the way! Great experience from pick up to drop off. Isaac was my driver. Robert was my cycling guide. Courteous, professional, flexible and funny. I shared a few Dad Jokes with Robert on the ride.

A fabulous day out in Hell’s Gate National Park! Our day started at 7am when our guide, Isaac, picked us up from our Nairobi hotel. Isaac was a very careful driver and extremely knowledgeable on all things Kenyan. The 2 hour drive spent chatting and laughing with Isaac, was very pleasant. We arrived at the park, chose our bikes and set off, with an experienced park guide, on an easy, out and back ride. So much fun cycling by giraffes and zebras. At the turn around point we hiked into the spectacular gorge before heading back for lunch. After a meal at Lake Naivasha, we took a boat ride. The experienced captain pointed out, and named, all the wildlife, which included many types of birds, and on Crescent Island, hippos, zebra, waterbuck and impala, to name a few. We were very lucky with the traffic and Isaac returned us safely to our hotel at 6pm. Thank you Isaac for your safe driving, good company and sharing your vast knowledge of Kenya!
