What's the Story? Tokyo’s streets take on another life after dark. Wandering the neon-lit back streets of Kabukicho, the city’s major red light and entertainment district, one gets a sense of a world hidden amidst the neon haze. Seemingly secret passages lead away from the lights and into an underworld of wires and cramped locales, frequented by the denizens of the night. What We'll Shoot We will explore creative ways of shooting street photography in the night-scape of Tokyo’s most colorful districts. In addition to understanding the ideal settings for night street photography, we will learn how to creatively use reflections, and how to capture silhouettes while shooting in high contrast or very dark conditions. Where We'll Explore We'll delve into the heart of Shinjuku and Shibuya. We start off at Shinjuku Station, head towards Kabukicho, and end up in Omoideyokocho (Memory Lane). After that we'll go by train to Shibuya and ending our journey in the famous scramble crossing.

Nat our guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant but unfortunately he walked very fast. My friend and I struggled to keep up and after an hour we totally lost track of him. We did not know where we were so had to take a taxi back to our hotel, missing the last hour of the tour.

Charles is very personable, friendly, and knowledgable about the local area! He helped make lay some important tips and adjustments I wasn't quite getting right to make the shots perfect!

This was an awesome experience from start to finish. Not only was Charles knowledgeable of the area, he was also really handy at helping with setups for different types of shoots and how to apply those settings for best effect. His geographic knowledge of the areas around Tokyo are excellent, lending multiple different places to capture great shots of Tokyo and its neon. If you have the chance I’d highly recommend this tour with your camera!

This tour was a fantastic experience. Charles was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and cheerful, and he has a clear passion for photography. He gave me some fantastic tips on using my phone camera and how to get the best shots, and he helped me get amazing photos that I've sent to my family and friends back home. If you want to see Tokyo through a different lens, quite literally, and explore the intricate twists and turns around the maze of Shinjuku and Shibuya, then this is the tour for you.

My guide Charles was awesome, super friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to help all of us on the tour with different cameras get some incredible results. He knew some awesome spots and had some really great insight into our compositions. I was so pleased with this one I booked another tour with them as soon as I got back to the hotel!

Great evening of photography. Learned a lot about creative night time photography. Saw parts of Tokyo we would not have visited on our own. Guide was great. Would fully recommend.

Lukasz is a brilliant teacher and this session was extremely interesting. I learnt so much and wished I lived in Tokyo to continue learning from him. Really humble, relaxed, knowledgable and a great communicator. Don't hesitate to book.

Lukasz, Charles and Lee were all AMAZING! They are genuinely very friendly people and are all knowledgeable about the places we shot at. Not only did they bring me to unfamiliar nice places I otherwise wouldn’t have known, they also suggested shooting angles and composition. My personal photo series on Tokyo was greatly enhanced by their guidance. I will sign up for more sessions in my next trip to Japan!

As someone with no prior experience in street photography this was one of the best thing I did in Tokyo. Charles was a great guide taking us around Shinjuku and Shibuya and helping us make the most of the light and various compositions. Got some good photos and had a fun time. I will definitely do more tours with eyexplore on my next trip to Japan.

First time visiting Tokyo and what better way to break in the trip than taking a workshop. Being able to know where to go and what you can do was a great start for a street photography vacation. Great insight and instruction knowing I may have never found these places on my own and what to look for. Highly recommend and you will get images you’ll be proud of for sure.
