Very interisting tour! Jasmine is a very professional and passionate guide that gave as a great explanation Japenese culture and tradition by showing us the Kanazawa castle and geisha neighbourhoods. We enjoyed a lot this tour!

Yoshi was personable and knowledgable and did a great job explaining the history, significance and nuance of the 3 sites we chose for our tour. His English was very good and he was engaging and willing to answer lots of questions about Kanazawa and Japan, in general. I would highly recommend this tour and Yoshi in particular.

My husband and I loved our tour with Yoshi this morning. He showed us many of the highlights of Kanazawa, and was so knowledgeable about the city, its history and architecture. We particularly loved visiting the Kenrokuen gardens and learning about Japanese gardens and plants. Thank you for a wonderful morning!

Yoshi met us right at the cruise port and then we proceeded to take the public bus into town so we could visit at least five different sites which was really nice He was very helpful on the bus, making sure that everyone was either able to use a credit card or cash, this particular bus from the cruise port did not take a Suica card, unfortunately Our first step was the Oyama shrine, and he did an excellent job explaining the history and relevance of this particular site to honor Moeda-San. He was very good about the architectural details as well. We then proceeded onto the Kanazawa castle, Gardens, and the castle itself, and spend some time investigating the history as well as some of the architectural techniques, such as tongue and groove that they used in order to protect from earthquakes. Very informative! Please note that you will need to take your shoes off at this particular location before you can step foot on the wooden floor. There are both locked and unlocked shoe bins. The entrance fee for a combo ticket for the castle grounds and the Kenrokuen gardens was ¥500 however, if you are over 65 and just show your passport, you get in free We then explore the Kenrokuen gardens and I wish we could’ve stayed longer, but it was windy and cold and slightly raining and we had several who were struggling with the walk and chill. The entire walk was only 4 miles so just make sure you can walk this far with no issues We took another bus over to the teahouse District, which also has the historical geisha houses and he explained the cultural significance as well as help those who wanted to have lunch at the soba noodle house get settled. From here you can stay and shop, have tea, etc. we stopped at a bistro for lunch and then it’s about 1.6 km to walk back to the Kanazawa Central Station and that is where the cruise port buses picked up Taxis and Ubers are readily available here if that’s easier for you as well Yoshi is very articulate and took every guest needs into consideration as we move through the Tour. He will also customize if you work with him in advance on what you may want to see it is our first time here so we settled for the more iconic locations but if we come here again, we’ll look to go to some More obscure places to learn even more about the history.

We had a great tour with Sachi and it was a perfect way to see some of the amazing sights, get our bearings and pick up tips from a local . Sachi was very friendly and knowledgeable and we managed to cover a fair bit - Oyama Shrine, Kanazawa Park & Gates, Kenrokuen Gardens , Kazuemachi Chaya and Higashi Chaya . Sachi recommended a terrific place for Kimonoware and a lovely lunch restaurant. Didn’t have to look at a map all day and just absorbed the sights - perfect!

You need a tour of Kanazawa or you won’t know the hidden museums and shops. Till walk thru the park but not understand the why and how behind the architecture and designs

Yoshi was very kind and patient as we followed him thru the garden, geisha districts and castle in our rented kimonos. He even guided us to a delicious ramen shop for lunch. It was nice to have a guide for getting on and off of buses. Plan some cash for additional fees like a bus pass for the day, admission to the park and any geisha room visits.
