This was a fabulous tour. Our guide Aaron was friendly and very knowledgeable especially about indigenous use of rainforest plants and bush medicine, showing us fascinating details that we would have missed ourselves. A highlight was swimming in a freshwater creek. Highly recomme

This tour was the highlight of our time in the Port Douglas area. Get ready to experience stunning natural landscapes, visit a local organic farm stand, hear family stories, learn about the Kuku Yalanji people and their connection to the land, go crab hunting, and be cared for like family. Chase, our guide, looked after us so well—making sure we were fed, hydrated, and comfortable, while also answering all our questions with patience and insight. I’ll especially remember the meaningful conversation I had with her about our lives. Thank you, Chase.

It's a more laid back trip with Aaron who is the best guide ever. He kept us informed hydrated we'll fed and gave us a wealth of information on bush medicine. We highly recommend this tour. We were able to go at our own pace and Aaron made sure we saw the Cassawary and crocodile. Best trip ever for us. Thanks

It was one of the best guided tours I've ever had! Guide shared his tradition knowledge of using plants in everyday life and in healing. I learned so much, also about the animals and insects. Guide was really friendly and showed us everything he could, he even did some extras in looking for cassowaries. He was the best!

We had an incredible day tour with Aron exploring Kulki, Cape Tribulation. We gained fascinating insights into the region's unique plants and wildlife. Aron's deep knowledge of how the Kuku Yalanji people have used the natural environment for thousands of years was amazing. Such an eye-opening experience. This was our second tour, and I highly recommend these exceptional tours to anyone visiting the far north. Thank you. With respect. Suzanne

Tour guide Aaron was a top bloke, easy going humour, made sure all 9 of us on tour were included and felt comfortable. We really appreciated the small group and personal approach. We learned a lot about how the indigenous people use the plants from the forest. He grabbed leaves and fruits from bushes and trees as we went and showed how they were used.

We had a wonderful day with our native guides, Aaron and Chaslea, who picked us up and dropped us off at our Port Douglas hotel. I can’t imagine doing this tour with who was not Aborigine. Both Aaron and Chaslea have lived here all their lives and passionately shared their knowledge and love for the region and its people. Along the way, Aaron would make frequent stops to show us various native plants and demonstrate their medicinal purposes. We were invited to partake (beware the noni fruit) of the various remedies (I ate my first and last green ant) at each stop. We saw cassowaries (2) and crocodiles in the wild and had a delicious lunch including exotic local fruits that Aaron prepared. During lunch Chasely brought out maps and local artifacts to educate us on the various Queensland clans and how they have subsisted on this land for centuries. All in all this was a wonderful immersive experience. A shoutout to Jo Gasteen of Journey South for arranging this and to our exceptional guides.

Aaron looked after our group and brought a great level of knowledge and humour. Aaron was sure to include everyone and struck a healthy balance of both professionalism and a personable approach.
