Day 1: Arrival and Prep

Fly into Queenstown, the adventure capital of New Zealand, where you can stock up on any last-minute gear. From Queenstown, drive about an hour to the charming town of Wanaka, your gateway to Mt. Aspiring National Park. Spend your day acclimating to the altitude and exploring local shops. Overnight in a cozy lakeside lodge in Wanaka.

Day 2: Rob Roy Glacier Track

Early morning, take a scenic drive to Raspberry Creek car park, about an hour from Wanaka. Begin your trek on the Rob Roy Glacier Track, a stunning 10 km return journey that offers spectacular views of the Rob Roy Glacier. This moderate hike, crossing swing bridges over pristine rivers, takes about 3-4 hours and offers firsthand views of dramatic ice cliffs and alpine scenery. Keep an eye out for keas, the world"s only alpine parrot.

Day 3: Jet Boat and Hike

Head to Matukituki River for an exhilarating jet boat ride that combines high-speed thrills with stunning remote wilderness. Disembark at a secluded spot and follow a guide on a wilderness walk, learning about the area’s unique flora and fauna. Return by jet boat, buzzing through narrow gorges and speeding across crystal-clear waters.

Day 4: Via Ferrata and Aspiring Hut Overnight

Challenge yourself with a via ferrata course near the park. Climb steel ladders, cross high wire bridges, and navigate through rocky pathways with the safety of a fixed cable system. Later, trek to Aspiring Hut (around 2-3 hours from the trailhead) for an overnight stay, enjoying a sunset amidst the towering peaks.

Day 5: Return to Wanaka

Hike back to the trailhead and return to Wanaka. Spend your last evening relaxing by Lake Wanaka, reflecting on the alpine adventures, before heading back to Queenstown for your onward journey.
