This was our first time in Bogata so we wanted a tour that would give us a condensed history of Bogota from Spanish rule to its recent violent decades to its present transformation. This tour did that and we really appreciated how our guide Lorenzo was able to talk about the complexity of history as we walked through La Candelaria. The tour included a stop at a market to get coffee, pastries, and use the restroom. Given Bogota is almost 9,000 ft above sea level a couple of us were experiencing altitude headaches. At Lorenzo's suggestion we purchased coca tea and it helped alleviate the pain. Unfortunately while coca leaves are legal in South American countries you cannot bring it back into the United States. Also keep in mind this walking tour is almost 3 hours so be ready for a worthwhile walk!

Thanks to our excellent guide, Leo, we were able to explore the downtown area of Bogotá (La Candelaria) while listening to fascinating bits of Colombian history, and finding out about cultural and social aspects that enriched the whole experience even more! Highly recommended when in Bogotá!

With a very informative guide, today’s tour was exceptional. We learned a good bit covering several areas of interest... i native foods, literally lost conquistadors, Gold rituals, the 1948 political divide, the area of the original historic 12 homes of Bogota, and much more for $ 0
