I can’t say enough positive things about this trip and our guide Gilberto and our head chef Santo who made this such an incredible experience. The days were really well organized, and Gilberto gave us great information as we went along each day. The briefings were wonderful the night before and really helped us figure out what we were doing the next day. He was incredibly professional and made the experience fun for us with his great attitude. The food was also quite amazing how Santo and his assistant chef created so many different varieties of food each day all of it delicious it never seemed to stop. It was perfect after a hard days hike. There are so many highlights to this trip I couldn’t single out one particular thing every day was a wonderful adventure. Thank you Gilberto and Santo for making this a great experience for me.

Had such a fun time! Be sure to be climatized before you go on the trek, we slept at around 13k ft the first night and some folks had altitude sickness.

The Salkantay Trek isn’t just a hike — it’s a journey that tests your body, clears your mind, and opens your heart. Four days of rain, cold, mud, and thin air — but also silence, laughter, breathtaking views, and the kind of peace you only find in the mountains. Our guide Julio, who lovingly calls everyone “papi,” made the entire experience unforgettable. His calm energy, humor, and deep respect for the mountains gave the trek so much meaning. During the ritual at the Salkantay Pass, he handed us coca leaves, told us to make a wish, and as we blew them into the wind — the clouds opened, revealing Machu Picchu. I don’t believe in gods, but that moment felt sacred. Gilber, our leader, kept everything running smoothly and made sure everyone felt safe and cared for, even on the toughest climbs. And David, the good-natured joker of the group, brought so much lightness to the journey — he also took the most amazing photos of me and the group, capturing the spirit of the trek perfectly. The TreXperience organization was flawless: well-prepared campsites, surprisingly delicious meals, and a team that truly goes above and beyond for their trekkers. There were moments I thought, “Why am I doing this?” But reaching the Salkantay Pass, soaked, exhausted, and overwhelmed with pride, was something I’ll never forget. If you’re thinking about doing the Salkantay Trek — do it with TreXperience. Not because it’s easy, but because it will change you in ways you’ll never expect. (Ps. You will not have such great food as this in a very long time after)

Did the 5 Day Salkantay Trek with my partner and it was ... A-MA-ZING ! Our Guide, Romario aka Romacito, made our experience truly unbelievable. We were blessed with impeccable weather during the 5 days, except while on the highest point of the hike, in Salkantay pass where snow/hale started to fall, but it stopped about 1hr down the road. Romario made us feel like a family as he took great care of us, (We were a small group of 6 people initially, then 5 - one of us had book the 4 day trek). From the start in Saraypampa, to the end in Aguas Caliente, there was not a minute where we were being amazed by the decor His knowledge and passion kept us all captivated from start to end and the experience would have been totally different without his expertise. I can even say that on top of being a top Guide, he was also a great friend. Also big thanks to our Chef Juvanel and assistant Paoliño who took very great care of our bellies during this trip. Again, Romario, thank you for everything and Hasta Luego Amigo !!!

From start to finish, this activity was an absolute highlight. The landscapes we hiked through were beautiful. Special thanks go to our guides Juan de Dios and Tairo, whose passion and knowledge made the experience truly special. It's also really impressive what our Chef Beltrán cooked for us under these conditions. Every meal was delicious and provided the perfect fuel for the next stage of the hike. The hikes are quite long at times, but easily manageable with a good level of basic fitness. All in all, it was an all-round successful adventure.

Unforgettable Salkantay Trek with Machu Picchu Our 4-day Salkantay Trek was an amazing experience. Everything was perfectly organized, and at the same time we had so much fun with the group. There was lots of laughter, great energy and many unforgettable moments. Grover, our main guide, led the tour with great professionalism. Everything ran smoothly thanks to his excellent organization, attention to detail and calm, confident manner. We always felt safe and well taken care of, and he shared many interesting insights along the way. Alejandro, our chef, spoiled us with incredibly delicious meals, often even better than in restaurants. Every breakfast, lunch and dinner was fresh, varied and full of surprises. We looked forward to every meal. Alex was an exceptionally attentive and kind guide throughout the trek. Since we joined the 4-day version while the rest of the group did five days, he accompanied us on the final day to Machu Picchu. His enthusiasm, patience and genuine care made that day truly special. You could feel that he really loves what he does. Overall it was a perfectly organized trek with a fantastic team, amazing food and many great memories. We can highly recommend this experience. Our guides were great. Grober took care of us and was always available to answer any questions. Alex was exceptional. He went above and beyond. He should be promoted to lead guide. Chef Alejandro prepared delicious meals that kept us energized and satisfied all day. The pace was a little too fast for us. We’re in our 50s and 60s respectively and even though we are in great shape we found it hard to keep up.

I did this hike with my husband and sister. The hiking was a amazing, everything surpassed our expectations. The food was magic, I was surprised with the cooking skills of the Cheff Beltran, since he and his team cooked incredible meals in the middle of nowhere and with very limited installations. They also provided a bowl of hot water to clean ourselves every morning, this detail was really comforting. The guide Juan de Dios has a lot of experience and he has a lot of knowledge about the Peruvian culture, it was really interesting hearing all of his stories and facts about culture and nature along the way. The guide Tiron is really fun and we enjoyed out chats with him along the way too. He also did a ritual with the Pachamama on the top of the Salkantay pass, we were really greatful we could experience it. Thank you to all the team, it was a great experience and I would recommend Trexperience to anyone looking to do the Salkantay trail

The Salkantay Trek in Peru was an unforgettable experience! Special mention goes to our two guides, Julio and Alex, who turned the whole trip into a truly unique adventure. Julio was a fantastic guide. Not only did he impress us with his deep knowledge of the history and culture of the Inca era, but he was also a constant point of contact throughout the entire trek. His positive and motivating attitude kept the group together. He regularly shared fascinating anecdotes and interesting facts that enriched the trekking experience even more. It was fascinating to learn so much about the region and nature from him. The nature itself was simply breathtaking! From snow-capped peaks like Salkantay to tropical jungle sections – the diversity of landscapes was stunning. Every day offered new, spectacular views. The moment we finally reached Machu Picchu after those exhausting days was especially meaningful – the perfect ending to a journey we will never forget. The entire organization was also excellent. Thank you, Julio and Alex, for this unforgettable adventure!
