Epic Mutianyu Great Wall: Morning Adventure from Beijing

As a solo traveler, I was a little hesitant about joining a group tour, but this Mubus trip was fantastic. Our guide, Kevin, had a wonderful way of making everyone feel included. The itinerary to the MuTianYu section was a good experience. Kevin was not only a wealth of historical knowledge but also a great leader, ensuring the group carefully .He gave us crucial tips: to pace ourselves, carry plenty of water, and wear comfortable shoes. The Great Wall of China is really beautiful. I never felt lonely on the trip, and I even made a few friends. It was a perfect blend of structure and free time. A huge thank you to Kevin and Mubus team. Mubus Service Center from the Great Wall there is such a nice place when you finish long walking the walk and have a good rest. They have hot tea and snacks from the waiting room for us for free makes us feel warm like back home. Thanks again.

We had an incredible experience visiting the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall! Our guide, Jessica, was fantastic — knowledgeable, friendly, and very organized. On the drive there, she shared fascinating stories about the history of the Wall and explained how this section differs from others. Once we arrived, Jessica gave us clear instructions about the route and suggested we take the Western trail up to Watchtower 20 — the very top point of the Mutianyu section. It was definitely a workout, but absolutely worth it for the breathtaking views and the quieter, less crowded atmosphere. After our climb, we stopped for a rural-style lunch nearby, where we got to try a wonderful variety of authentic Chinese dishes — everything was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. Overall, this tour was perfectly organized from start to finish. We were the first bus to arrive, so we avoided the crowds entirely—hiking the wall felt peaceful and intimate, and the slide ride down was a blast with no lines. Mutianyu Bus’s facilities were a nice surprise too—their café was a great place to grab a drink before the hike, and the buffet lunch was delicious and varied. It was a day I’ll never forget.

MuBus’s Great Wall tour in autumn is a must-do— the foliage alone is worth the trip! We were the first bus to arrive, so we had the wall mostly to ourselves—no crowds, no waiting, just peaceful moments to appreciate the beauty and history of the place. The toboggan down was a fun bonus, and MuBus’s facilities were top-notch: a cozy café, secure luggage storage, and a delicious buffet. It was a day of natural beauty, interesting history, and total relaxation—exactly what I needed.

I highly recommend the 5k hike! It was way more intense than I thought it would be, but it’s worth it. The view is gorgeous and it’s such a unique experience. Our guide shared some interesting and special information about the wall and the trail on our hike. It was a really good experience overall and I can’t think of anything to complain about. Do it if you are able.

This is one of the best tour I have attended. I really appreciate how the tour guide did his best to make the trip systematic and smooth. The trip started on time but Im thankful to Sir Kevin that he allowed us to change our booking schedule on the other day. The MuBus company has its building that can accommodate tourists who need to rest and leave their belongings. The tour already covers the shuttle bus fare roundtrip in going to the west or east entrance gate. You only have to pay for the cable car.
