Great time at borobudur and prambanan temple. I was bit confused for ticketing and preparing transportation by myself that's why I joined tour package. They provided me transport, ticketing, tour guide, good restaurant and also souvenir shop I wanted to buy something special in indonesia. Specially the driver his name is Mr. Seta, was perfect to me. He prepared everything for me. And also He expanded many things for history, culture and religion of Indonesia . It was really helpful to know them. He also showed me very beautiful palaces to take picture. I really appreciate it. I was just like a model with amazing scenery. I really thank to the tour company specially Mr. Seta. The only thing you should be careful is the burning sun with high temperature.

Our guide, Maxi, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the temples we visited. He also recommended great stops for food and coffee during our tour. The overall experience was phenomenal and we will book with Asmaradhana again if we return to Yogyakarta.

First and foremost if you can get Maxi as your guide you definitely should! Not only was he fun, knowledgeable, and friendly! He knows all the ins and out of best times to go, where to get the best pics! The temple was great! and very fun to explore! you got to get up close to alot of the statues and carvings.

The one-day tour of Borobudur and Prambanan was spectacular, and made even better by Mr Fery’s knowledge and skill as both guide and driver, Starting with an on-time pickup from the hotel, Mr Fery provided a clear, easy to understand short history of Yogyakarta and the early Majapahit kingdoms on the way to Borobudur. Once at the temple park/complex, he guided me smoothly through the access procedures (to include making sure the special access sandals visitors are provided with fit properly), and helped me join the correct tour group. The temple tour itself is very well-conducted, with a professional, knowledgeable guide, but be aware that it can be somewhat physically demanding, especially for an older visitor (I’m a reasonably healthy 70-year-old, but no athlete.). The approach walk to the temple itself is approximately one-quarter mile, and the nature of the temple itself means the visitor will be climbing eight or nine sets of 10-15 step inclines, with individual steps having a rise of a foot or more. They’re not easy to climb, especially in Java’s heat. Seeing and appreciating the temple’s artistry is worth the effort, but bring water along, and be aware of your limits. The next leg was a 90-minute drive to the Prambhanan temple complex. As he did throughout the day, Mr Fery drove smoothly, safely, and professionally through Yogyakarta’s traffic, which is certainly a challenge. Mr Fery displayed great enthusiasm and expertise at the Prambhanan complex. Clearly highly knowledgeable regarding the complex, its history, and its mythological content, he made the visit even more interesting with a clear, detailed explanation of the carvings telling the story of Rama and Sinta, weaving into it an explanation of the temple’s history, from about 900 CE to today. The same caution for visitors noted in regard to Borobudur applies to Prambhanan. Long walks and steep climbs are required, and the tropical heat is a constant. Mr Fery is aware of visitor limitations, and allows plenty of time (and comfortable places) for breaks, but physical limitations must be acknowledged. In addition to his knowledge of the tour sites themselves, Mr Fery is happy to share his local knowledge of Yogyakarta city and surroundings. For those whose health supports it, this is a wonderful day trip with a superb guide. Learning about and seeing firsthand the marvels that the temples are is a very enriching and enjoyable experience, and Mr Fer’s happiness in sharing his knowledge is a joy to see.

These are magnificent places to visit, and the tours are very well organised to ensure they are not too crowded. Be prepared to take some steep steps. My guide Seta was friendly, informed and extremely helpful. 100% recommend.

Pick up from the hotel to the temples and back. It is well organised and you can take your time walking around the temple areas. Lunch is not included but you can have lunch at a very nice and tranquil place near Prambanan temple. My guide, Matthias, was very helpful and shared some nice backstories of the temples and areas. He even provided extra water for me to have. A tip from me is to book this during the week and avoid the weekends. During weekends the temples will have more (local) visitors. And mind the national holdidays as well!

Very easy and friendly, happy to answer all our questions. He took us to a spot in between the two temples that we wanted to go even though it wasn’t officially on our tour.

This experience was extremely well planned and we had a great time with Bima, our private guide and driver. He was super kind, ho told everything about the temples and we had a good chat about our cultures! He also took us to a beautiful restaurant over the rice terrace. Beautiful first day in Yogyakarta 😃
