A recognizable landmark on the big screen, the Cliffs of Moher, has appeared in countless movies, TV shows, music videos, and advertisements. Among the most recent movies filmed at the Cliffs of Moher are Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, The Yank, Into the West, and The Mackintosh Man are some of the movies filmed there in the last few years.

The most famous sight in Ireland

Galway Bay is framed by the Aran Islands on a clear day. Cliffs of Moher are vertical and abrupt in their edge. As the waves gnaw at the soft shale and sandstone below, you hear the booming far below.

Due to its due-west exposure, the best time to visit is during sunset.

Wheelchair users have access to a hard-surfaced path in these areas, but there are sections where natural terrain gradients exceed the levels that can be navigated with a wheelchair. Visiting parties are advised to rely on assistance when using these paths.

Visitors with disabilities and the elderly can use the Lifts of Moher buggy for easier access to the site. Availability is limited.

While the terrain makes it difficult to provide a full independent level of access to all areas outdoors, the elevated views at Hags Head and O'Brien's Tower, and the new cliff edge works, have been designed to provide a reasonable level of access to the outdoor experience. From both the ground and first floor levels of the building, as well as from the main concourse, there is easy access to the picnic area and cliff edge.
