You get to hang out with both locals and expats before the screening, and everyone’s just chatting over drinks. The hosts make you feel really welcome, and it’s such a fun way to experience French cinema, even if you’re not fluent. Definitely recommend it if you’re in Paris and want to do something a bit different from the usual tourist stuff!

I had the best time watching Connemara at the Cinema du Pantheon this week. The cinema itself was so cool, and right in the heart of Paris. I met people just like me before the screening -- other young students who just moved here and are looking for community -- and loved getting to know them before the film. The film was an amazing way to experience French culture -- and learn French -- in the city where cinema was born! Watching the film with new friends made it more meaningful, and afterward we hung around, breaking it down and swapping thoughts. What a wonderful way to integrate into Parisian life and meet new people!

Amazing experience for any non French speakers or learners! It is amazing to be able to enjoy French film with English subtitles as well as being able to get a drink and socialize with others! Attendees are very social, and you always make at least one new friend. I totally recommend for anyone visiting, or living in Paris, it truly is an immersive experience :)
