Ascend to Awe: Mount Rigi Panoramic Summer Escape from Lucerne

We did (4) tours with Best Of Switzerland. The first was Zurich Highlights Tour with cruise and the Lindt Chocolate factory. Hint: take the boat back earlier. The 2nd tour was Rhine Falls and the little city Stein am Rhein. Monika was our guide. She is fabulous! Our 3rd tour was Mt Rigi. So much fun. We took a boat, train and funicular. Lunch was amazing at the top. Pumpkin soup is a must! The last tour was Mt Titlis with Monika again. Amazing The meeting place is a little odd but given the city had a carnival going on, parking was hard!

Very good experience. Please note there is a 10 minute walk from bus station to Lucerne boat dock (it is not a coach ride). The cogwheel train was a nice ride. At Mt Rigi there is a restaurant and nice views. Unfortunately we had a cloudy day, but still a great experience. The gondola ride down is quite full, standing room only. The boat rides are nice and very relaxing. Great views of the countryside and Lake.

Our guides Daniel and Sabina were very informative and helpful. They answered all our questions and looked after this older couple carefully. The views were amazing

Our tour guide was excellent. We loved the boat ride on Lake Lucerne and the cable car up to Mt. Rigi. Beautiful scenery! The gondola ride was a disappointment. Very crowded; we were packed in with 50 other people and couldn’t see anything and could hardly breathe.

There is a fair amount of walking on sometimes steep and uneven ground. Take a water bottle, hat, sunglasses, and for sure camera. .

Gaby was excellent and made the day so easy and enjoyable. She was enthusiastic and informative. The trip was a good value and a FULL day. I would highly recommend this. My one quibble is that the website provides an incorrect address for the meeting spot. When we called, they were beyond helpful. However, make sure to get the right address ahead of time and don't trust what is emailed to you. Have fun, we loved it! Go Gaby!

Excellent day, But meeting point should be at the car par OR AT THE BOAT. WE walked all the way from the boat area to meet in the carpark. Unnecesary

Great trip! Rita the tour guide was very helpful in helping us do some hiking independently of the group. The day was a highlight of the trip to Switzerland.

Our guide, Gabby, was fantastic. We met her at the specified location and proceeded to have a memorable day despite the weather not being ideal. The top of the mountain was in clouds so we were unable to see the views. We did have clear weather from Weggis part way down the mountain that were spectacular. Gabby was very knowledgeable and full of information. She really made the day fun. Maybe you could organize the trip directly with the different transportation systems but if you're not familiar with the area this is the way to go. Having someone that could share historical and cultural information on generally everything made for a wonderful experience. Thanks Gabby
