Cairns White Water: Barron River Half-Day Adrenaline Ride!

It’s the best rafting experience ever. Fin was our rafting guide who are so passionate and professional.

Fantastic guides that made the whole experience fun, lighthearted but very safe. Pick up and drop off so easy, paying was no problem.

We had a great afternoon with Dorothy so much fun she was fantastic ! Specially with my wife who was apprehensive about falling out of the raft.Good activity to do on a rainy day which we had and made no difference to the experience.Id give it 5 stars out of 5

We had a family of 4 and our youngest was 12yrs. We had Lexy as our guide and she... (infact all the guides were..) brilliant. It was safe and fun. Couldn't fault the day.

First time white water rafting and it was an incredible experience! The Barron Gorge is stunning and Cairns Adventure Group made the whole trip easy and fun. A huge thank you to our raft guide Jacqui and the entire team with our bus guide who was hilarious (unfortunately I don’t recall his name but pretty sure he was French) – knowledgeable, supportive, and kept the energy high the whole way through. We were also lucky to have such a great group in our raft, which made the adventure even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

A wonderful short time out on the water. Shout out to Harry for his excellent bus hosting, Jackie for being the best bus driver ever and Ed, my raft guide. The tour is safe, fun and not too strenuous. I’d love to go rafting again and feel ready to level up.

We booked this experience expecting it to be a fun and laughter filled afternoon activity for us as a family with teens. Little did we expect this to be a strictly regimented activity. But maybe it was just us as the rest of the rafts seemed to be having fun which sadly wasn't the case for us. Our raft captain expected us to strictly follow his commands and not get distracted by fun and laughter. He deflated our spirits pretty swiftly. I did share my feedback and complaint with the tour company and they have promised action and internal review into this. They also stressed that this experience is meant to be fun for beginners and not too regimented hence I chose a 3 Star.

When we booked the tour we believed it will be a great fun filled experience for us as a family with teenaged kids. But little did we know that this was actually a regimented activity where having fun and laughter was unacceptable. Well that’s how it turned out for us but not for the rest of the rafts, they were all having a good time. Hence I have rated this a 3 Star instead of 1Star Our experience was marred by our Raft Captain who seemed to get irritated if we were not able to keep up to his regimented instructions. He was rude and totally spoiled what was meant to be a beginner’s experience at white water rafting. I have shared my feedback and complaint with the tour provider but haven’t had any response yet from them other than a holding statement.
