Snorkeling In Nusa Penida Departing From Bali Island

Loved the whole experience, especially being able to swim with countless manta rays. Our driver Komang accommodated us with pickup and drop-off times from our villa. Our guides on the snorkel boat were great in capturing all the right moments with their GoPro. Would recommend for a memorable experience!

My family and I had an absolutely wonderful time on this snorkel excursion. Our driver Komang went above and beyond to make our experience comfortable and memorable.

Booked a 6 hour private boat snorkel trip costing AUD$837 for 4 adults with 4 locations promised. Our driver in Sanur, Budi, was fabulous - great communication, on time and very helpful when we reached Sanur Port. Sadly I can’t say the same when we reached Nusa Penida. We were met and taken to the Manta Fish office at 8-50 and told to just “sit down and relax”. Our snorkelling boat was supposed to leave there at 9am. There was no boat in sight for us. We continued waiting with NO communication about what was happening. I asked a few times when is the boat coming for us and received the usual “maybe ten minutes”. We were finally picked up at 9-40am in what I can only describe as a sub-standard boat based on all the other boats we saw. We were supposed to have an English speaking guide, and whilst the 2 guys on the boat were lovely, both only spoke minimal English which made it very difficult. We were also not provided with towels which is stated as one of the inclusions. The snorkeling was good. We did see a number of manta rays which was great. Unfortunately, because of our very late start we missed out on the last snorkelling place and had to rush back to the port area, nearly missing our boat back to Sanur. It was disappointing as we don’t feel that we got what we paid for, and weren’t able to get the full experience we were expecting. I can only hope that in writing this review, processes at the snorkelling office in Nusa Penida change, so that other visitors don’t experience what we did.

I had literally such an amazing day! I saw manta rays and so many beautiful fish but truthfully it could not have been possible and such a smooth day without my driver Komang! He was genuinely such a nice guy and made the drive and transition from my hotel to the excursion stress free! Honestly one of the funniest people I’ve met so far on my travels and I will for sure be giving him a call whenever I need anything in Bali! 10/10 one of the best people you could meet!

Most of the trip consisted of rushing through warfs to get onto one speed boat to another in between long waits for the speed boats to arrive. When you arrive nusa penida there is a 1 hour wait. Not much to do but the views are nice. The small boat I went out on was nice and the blokes on the boat gave us a decent amount of time snorkelling. You will spend most of your time waiting and being cramped on a boat on this trip. The views were stunning and I'd say it was worth it in the end.

Komang was very diligent and helped us with the transportation logistics seamlessly and in a hastle- free manner. Would definitely recommend!

Our driver was fabulous. Organised our whole trip. We had a wonderful time at four seperate spots. We saw a manta ray even though it was mantra season. We saw loads of fish a turtle and beautiful coral. The water colour was amazing. It was warm and the staff were friendly and helpful.

From the moment he picked me up, he greeted me with a warm smile and made me feel so welcome. His knowledge of the area was impressive, and he shared interesting stories about Bali's culture and history, which made the ride even more enjoyable. What I appreciated most was his patience and kindness. He was always willing to stop for photos and showed me the best spots to explore. He went above and beyond to ensure I had a great experience, making recommendations for places to visit and eat. His driving was safe and smooth, which made me feel comfortable throughout the journey. Overall, I can't recommend him enough!
