This was not the experience we hoped it would be. Expensive for what we got. We thought we would have a guide with us for the whole two days. We did not. We had no English-speaking guide for the San Andres ruins. Just a driver who barely spoke any English at all. He then was not allowed entry to Honduras so my friend and I had an anxious wait at the border after 5 hours travelling to see what would happen. Luckily the hotel came to pick us up at the border and we were totally in their hands. The accommodation was by far the worst I have had in years and the room was nothing at all like the website. Clearly they gave us the worst room and Viator had picked the very cheapest rate. The local tour company it was booked through in San Salvador were useless and the communication terrible. I would strongly recommend not using them.

A really great way to see Honduras and the amazing ruins in Copan conveniently from San Salvador. Our guides were congenial, knowledgeable, flexible and professional. As female travelers we felt safe and well taken care of.

Excellent trip. Driver/Guide was helpful and drive was pleasant. Only negative feedback was the choice of hotel which wasn’t up to a 3 star hotel standard.

We booked this overnight trip as getting to Copan took two border crossings (Gutamala and Honduras) and it was smooth with our amazing guide's help - Alex. His English was excellent, and conversation kept the 4+ car ride interesting and relevant. Couldn't have asked for a better person to go on a road trip with! My husband and I also didn't expect the additional Mayan site of San Andreas, very nice on the way in addition to Joya De Ceren. Lunch was at a local joint with great vegetarian options. Copan town was so charming with plenty of options for dinner, the hotel was stayed at was at Plaza Copan and we slept well. Breakfast was delicious. The ruins are so magical, especially in the AM getting there before other tourists. The Stela was truly unique and the art here is superb.

Fantastic trip to Honduras from El Salvador, also crossing Guatemala. Three nations in one day! First stop is the Mayan archaeological site of St. Andres. Then 2h to Copan in Honduras, where we slept one night. The next morning we visited the Mayan archaeological site of Copan, which is part of UNESCO. Thanks to Francisco we spent this beautiful weekend in Honduras. Francisco was a great guide and driver, who gave us so many explanations and from whom we learned a lot. I highly recommend this activity, because in addition to seeing important Mayan archaeological sites, we also crossed 3 national borders of Central America.

Copán es hermoso, no es fácil llegar, así que cruzar la frontera con un guía de la zona es algo necesario. Buen carro, guía amable e informadoi.
