Our guide was brilliant. Very knowledgeable about the history of the war and the site. He gave us in depth insights but also allocated time for us to explore on our own through the museum as well.

Alun was very knowledgeable about the history of Dachau and the Nazi regime. He shared this information in a straightforward and sensitive manner. We enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend!

Our visit to Dachau Concentration Camp was educational and sobering. Alun was a fantastic guide. He was a wealth of knowledge and insight. He was engaging and easy to talk to. It’s impossible to walk around the camp and not feel echos of the horrors that took place there. Difficult but necessary. Thank you, Alun, for making our visit impactful!

Alun provides a great tour and history lesson on a very difficult subject. He also does a good job guiding you through the public transit to get to and from your destination.

Excellent tour with friendly, well organised guide. Being part of a small group a real bonus. Would definitely recommend

Alun was one of the best guides that I have ever had at a historical site. He limits he size of his groups so he can properly guide everyone through this important, complex place.

We had an excellent tour. Meeting place was clear. Alun explained the travel process. He spent about 2 hours walking us through Dachau- explaining history and the significance of the different stops. He then gave us an hour on our own to tour the museum. Honestly, my husband and I thought it was an awful lot of time for our two boys - 24 and 26 to do the museum which didn’t look that big and my kids tend to zoom through museums. But this one? They were very interested and we probably could have spent 2-3 hours. We agreed one hour was perfect and kept us moving but you could get lost in the plaques, descriptions and films. Quite a sobering day. The group was small- only 15 - so it was very easy. I highly recommend. We returned back on time - and we went to the hofbrauhaus to lighten up our day after the powerful tour.

Memorable, moving tour of Dacchau Concentration Camp starting in Munich, including transit on S Bahn and a local bus. Admission to the camp and transit is included in the fee. Alun Evans was a wonderful, local, personable tour guide. The walking tour with Alun was so informative and immersive; much better than a self-guided tour with headphones. Choose Viator.

We took a tour of the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site with Alun Evans, and I can’t say enough about how grateful I am for the experience. Alun was an exceptional guide—deeply knowledgeable, compassionate, and incredibly respectful in how he presented such a painful and important part of history. Despite the heavy subject matter, he guided us with grace and clarity, giving context, stories, and insights that truly honored the significance of the site. Visiting a concentration camp is something everyone should do when coming to Germany—it’s sobering, essential, and unforgettable. Alun made sure we understood not just the history, but the human impact and the importance of remembrance. A difficult tour, but absolutely vital—and Alun handled it with the professionalism and respect it deserves. Highly recommend.
