Visiting La Fortuna Waterfall was one of our absolute favorite experiences of our honeymoon. Everything was so well maintained — from the clean, organized facilities at the top to the sturdy, well-kept stairs leading down. The waterfall itself is stunning, powerful, peaceful, and surrounded by lush greenery. The shallow pools nearby were unbelievably blue and clear, perfect for relaxing and taking in the view. We loved that the staff carefully managed the number of visitors at the bottom, so it never felt crowded. We stayed for about two hours, completely enchanted. It was truly magical — a must-see for anyone visiting the area.

This was the best thing we did in Costa Rica, better than snorkeling, better than zip lines, better than tubing the river!! It was epic! The last waterfall was legit, but I'm glad i did it!!

This is a must see waterfall. Yes it is 530 steps down a paved path but it is worth it. If you want to you can swim in this clear water. They have clean restrooms, showers, changing areas along with restaurants, snacks, and drinks.

Easy hike down to a beautiful picturesque waterfall where you can swim ! So worth it! We got awesome pics and were able to swim. 500 steps down and 500 down so just be aware of that. But paved and easy

Go early to avoid the crowds! We went during end of September and got there right when it opened. There were only two others there when we arrived and then had the place to ourselves for around 20 minutes. More people started to show up after about an hour. I don't think we would have enjoyed it as much if we went when it was crowded as there's not that much space. The walk was very easy and the stairs are well maintained. We didn't actually skip any line but the ticket was the same price as buying it online so it saved us a few minutes.

One of the best experiences in La Fortuna! It’s a hike down and up but it’s 100% worth it and I highly recommend!

Must do! It’s with the hike! You can get in the water with the waterfall behind you. Wear water shoes as the rocks are slippery!!

Time your visit for when swimming is allowed. The waterfall is beautiful, and swimming under it is such a unique experience for how the current feels and flows clean and beautiful the water is. The more relaxed, run off stream area is also amazing to swim against the current and again be able to see the fish from how clear and clean the water is. Be sure to be prepared for the 500 steps climb back up, but so worth it.

We went in slow season so we didn’t need to “skip the line”. Be prepared for hell of a workout. That’s a LOT of steps to and from. Waterfall is pretty. Swimming impossible in the pool beside the waterfall.

Beautiful views. Perfect for people who love nature. The way back is intense since you have to go up thru 500 stairs, but there is various places to take a rest, enjoy nature and to continue. There is potable water fountains.
