Leipzig's Best: 90-Min Hop-On Hop-Off City Highlights

We booked through Trip Advisor and the booking was listed as being an English Language tour at 1:30. When we arrived, the brusk woman said there were never any English language tours available. We went anyway and looked at many nice buildings and homes, but couldn't understand any of the presentation. We had to guess where we were by looking at streets signs and the map that was provided in German. We did get to our goal, however, which was to Hop Off and visit the Völkerschlachtdenkmal, a huge war memorial that commemorates the victory over Napoleon's army. The monument was worthwhile, but we regret not just taking a tram there and back.

Excellent tour narrator. She knows the city well. beware. There is only German narration. If you do not understand German this on not for you.

We took many photos. The views were lovely. The drivers were very accommodative and kind. Thank you for this pleasant tour.

This bus gave the opportunity to see all the sights outside of the town centre but it was only in German so we had to share one booklet between four meaning the one reading the booklet did not see the sights. Still as it was hop on and off we just went round again later!

Sold and English tour but only got a German one. The route and views were great but understanding the description would have made the tour great.

The tour by bus you can only recommend good information about the history and very friendly then gladly again in better weather with open deck

The very informative hop-on hop-off tour (about 1 1/2 hours if you don't get off) gives a very good overview of the sights of the city as well as the districts (including Innnenstadt, Gohlis, Plagwitz, Südstadt/KarLi etc.). For later further tours you have a good feeling for distances etc. Combined with the tour we had an about 1 hour boat trip over the canals with completely different cView of the city, the buildings as well as the nature. Outstanding were the various city guides, who reported in a very lively and interesting way a lot on the history of Leipzig and the buildings and supplemented stories on Leipzig specialties, food and anecdotes from the GDR period. It is also highly recommended to book a guided tour of the Federal Administrative Court; gigantic building with great history and excellently renovated historical premises.

I was more than satisfied with the tour guide on the bus. Her knowledge and humor was great. The information came out of the submachine gun and you didn't always get to look, it was that fast. Still, everyone, it was fun.

Although there was a lot to see and a lot of good information, we were nevertheless shocked by 2 remarks: 1. The following joke was given for the best: What is the difference between 1 egg and 1 GDR citizen? The egg is cut into the pan only once and 2. It was noted that the public meadows are not sunbathing areas and that the people on them are not proficient in the German language anyway. We are outraged!!
