We have seen a few sports museums around the world but this one is easily one of the best. It has a nice open floor plan and extensive exhibits without being too overwhelming or cluttered. We appreciated how they presented some of the most important events and people for Olympic history, the inclusion of videos and the memorabilia from all eras of modern Olympic History. The museum has an accessible design with a long sloping ramp in the centre that allows access to all floors. They have a restaurant and a cafe in the building but my favourite feature was the gift shop that seemed to sell literally everything from all Olympics. They had mascots, posters and all sorts of collectibles that would be enough for any fan. The cost to enter is 20 CHF and it is easy to spend 2-3 hours here depending on the interest level. They have lockers that give back the coin deposit once you return the key. We found street parking out front to be reasonable and had many stops prior to this on a busy day as we completed a road trip around Switzerland. Outside there is a sculpture park and we enjoyed a nice sunset over the water before driving to Geneva.

Really nice collection of items from the Olympic Games. Starts with a rendering of the Ancient games in Greece. Explains how the modern games were conceptualized and supported. Great display of uniforms and equipment used in the games from about 1940 to today. There was an Opening Ceremony film that compiled so many ceremonies over the past 40 years. Really liked the personal stories of hundreds of Olympians available to read in the interactive displays complete with videos and personal stories. Can be covered in an hour. Grounds are beautiful, right along Lake Geneva. Highly recommend if you’re in Lausanne!

The Olympic Museum in Lausanne is excellent—well-curated, interactive, and full of fascinating artifacts. The exhibits are engaging without being overwhelming, and the views over Lac Léman are a bonus. A must-see in the city. ★★★★★

A nice experience to see the collection and the history of the Olympic Games. Expected something more, but it was a nice/fun experience due the rain.

Such a great museum! Tells the history of the Olympics from the ancient greeks (with plenty of real artefacts) throught the establishment of the modern olympics to the present day. Loads of memorabilia, including torches, medals, mascots, uniforms, shoes, equipment and even the arrow that lit the torch in Barcelona! All well laid out and easy to follow, with plenty of information in English - I could have spent hours reading everything! Fabulous location looking out over the lake, with the steps, statues, medal podium, and some event set ups, such as the high jump bar and 100m track, so you can compare yourself with the world record holders! Only downside was that the shop was super-expensive, I had hoped to buy a lot of souvenirs but just ended up with a few postcards and a lanyard.

The museum is in beautiful surroundings with some great sculptures and track and field equipment in the grounds. The museum itself is very informative on the Olympic history with some fantastic sporting paraphernalia to view. The collection of medals through the years was amazing. It's not very interactive and I would not recommend for smaller children or if you don't like reading information panels

Fantastic day out! Frequent visitors of Lausanne and this is a must, if you’re travelling as a couple or with children. A beautiful restaurant at the top, spacious with plenty of choice.

This was the best museum I have ever been to. There was so much to see, with a lot of interactive exhibits, and a wealth of information. The gardens were beautiful.

I was amazed the glowing reviews of this museum . The entrance park and sculptures promised a lot and I was really looking forward to seeing the museum. A word of warning it is a bit of a trek from main road via steep steps or path to the building . A beautiful setting with lovely views of the area. For me the museum was very limited with a large area taken by a shop and the top floor was a restaurant, both seem more important than the museum which in essence was just one floor. This floor was interesting but for us not worth the visit. Expected a lot more of an organisation which has such a history of sports events. I know sponsorship is important but a large wall displays the major sponsors of the games and took up a space that could have displayed more olympic history.

Olympics Museum As a fan of the Olympics, I was giddy to be in the presence of greatness. I learned a lot of things, most especially the contribution of the founder. My favorite part is the original Olympic flag displayed here. The torch, costumes, mascots, and memorabilia of each and every player is interesting to see. This was also free from the Swiss Travel Pass. The Olympics Museum garden is fun to visit as well overlooking Lake Geneva outside.
