Uncork Martinborough: Wellington's Premier Half-Day Wine Tour

Great day out from Wellington with a 3 winery tasting experience at Martinborough. Great host who is informed about this region makes the day very enjoyable.

We met Simon outside of our Airbnb. It was an hour drive through the mountains on some quite curvy 2 lane roads to Martinborough. Simon regaled us with New Zealand's history, the Mairi history & lore, and his experiences working in all facets of the wine producing industry. While driving & chatting, he kept his eyes on the road - no need for eye contact on dangerous curves! We learned the history of Martinborough, the wine region, and the wineries we visited; Poppies, Moy Hall, and Paliser. Lunch at Moy Hall was Sliced Roast pork on a noodle salad... So delicious. The wine tasting there was with the lunch and the wines complemented it well! Before heading back to Wellington, we stopped at "C'est Cheese" to investigate and taste some NZ cheeses. Lovely shop & excellent cheese choices. Wonderful day! Thank you Simon!

We had a small group 3of us and 2 others, we visited 3 wineries and enjoyed all 3 had a lovely cheese platter at 2nd winery which wasn’t included, but went well with wine. Our driver Simon was amazing had great knowledge of the area and the wineries….he was also great at photo boming 🤣 we had a wonderful day and will do it again next year

He stood out as both knowledgeable abour the area and passionate, sharing stories and insights in a way that was engaging and memorable. The combination of a smooth journey, friendly company, and a well-paced tour made it a truly special experience. Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic 5.5-hour guided tour with ZoZo Travel over the Remutaka Ranges to Martinborough, one of New Zealand’s premier wine regions. Simon was our driver and was very accommodating throughout the day, making the entire experience thoroughly enjoyable. The tour included scenic drives, cellar door tastings at three of the region’s best wineries, and visits to local artisan establishments like C’est Cheese for cheese tastings. What really stood out was Simon’s wealth of knowledge. He provided lots of interesting information about the Remutaka hill and other landscape features we encountered, which really enhanced our understanding and appreciation of the region. ZoZo Travel clearly operates with a personal touch that sets them apart. Simon had excellent suggestions for coffee stops and shopping opportunities, showing he truly knows the area well. The small group tour format made it feel intimate and special. We would recommend ZoZo travel to anyone wanting to use a tour company with a reputation for excellence.

Phil is an absolutely wonderful tour guide and the town of Martinborough is perfect for a day getaway. Amazing wine, food and people all around. I was absolutely blown away by how wonderful our day was.
