Val d'Orcia: Ultimate Brunello Wine & Tuscan Hill Town Tour

A wonderful experience. With just 3 couples we were able to get more individual attention at the wineries. Both were very good and we had enough time to enjoy ourselves. And the scenery was incredible. Highly recommend.

Lots of wine selections to choose from. Great tour of the underground city. Allysa was a perfect tour guide and very knowledgeable about the different wines she chose. Our bus driver Sylvana was pleasant and had lots of history and folk lore to tell. There is a story about the white and black chicken.

Fantastic, what a fun excursion to the wine country in Tuscany. This was a small group who after the first wine tasting at a beautiful vineyard we all became friends. The guide was fun. We had a lot of laughs. We enjoyed quality wines, cheeses and the pairings perfect. The underground experience was unique. Highly, highly recommended this tour. Probably the best wine testing experience I’ve ever had and I’ve been to many.

We had a wonderful driver/guide. He was pleasant and informative. The wineries were great loved the first one more than the second. The Resturant for lunch had delicious food and the scenery was gorgeous. We would highly recommend this tour to others.

The Driver Sal was awesome and the winery guide Melanie at Ercolani was perfect. Great lunch and decent last stop but not as detailed as the first but still awesome !!!

Montepulciano was amazing! Excellent wine expert guide. Loved the underground facility. The actual wine tasting was in a rock cavern and just perfect. Bought the wine! The Montalcino experience was disappointing as the wine tasting was held in the reception area off to the side room. There were two tables both with tastings. Too loud to hear. The the clean up crew started removing glassware and plates. One again too loud to hear the guide. Wine was poured quickly into the five glasses at once and since you could not hear you were on your own. Don’t want to completely diss the place as it is run by women and I respect that! Mike the driver was fabulous and very knowledgeable!

It was so nice to wake up and have entire day planned. No stress. Great people. Great driver. Beautiful locations. Gracious hosts at wineries. Highly recommend for a preview to the smaller, harder to reach cities. Nice to get away from Florence and hustle of the crowds.

We had lots of fun on this outing, Loved that there were only 6 of us, which made it fun getting to know one another. We visited 2 wineries, both unique in their own way. Those at the winery were amazing at telling us about each wine. We ordered some to have shipped back to the US. We also made a stop for lunch and had time to explore a beautiful, small town. The guide was wonderful, he had knowledge of the history of the region. Also, you’re in a very comfortable luxury van. Certainly recommend this tour! It was one of the main highlights of our trip to Italy.

Wow, what a day! My husband and I booked this tour from Florence and it was the best experience we’ve had on our trip thus far. Simone was right on time picking us up and was extremely knowledgable about Florentine history, which she shared with us on and off during the first half of the drive. Our first stop was the Patrizia Cencioni Winery where we were served delicious wine and bread with olive oil (probably the tastiest we’ve ever had). We also loved that it is a women owned vineyard, and had the opportunity to taste samples of rosé and red wines - also just want to emphasize the generous “samples” of wine we were given that were more like full glasses! (We loved it so much that we bought 12 bottles of wine to ship home). However, our absolute favorite part of the trip was the second winery, Cantina Ercolani. Our tour guide Melanie was so lovely and very informative as she guided we through the ancient cellars of Montepulciano. The wine tasting included 5 red wines, paired with an assortment of meats, pecorino, and truffle, and concluded with a dessert wine/biscotti. The wine tasting room was recently renovated and extremely clean. We also bought 12 bottles of wine, and they offer FREE shipping which was amazing! We were very impressed and would book again without hesitation!

Van isn’t comfortable at the 6 passenger point especially if you are in the front middle next to the driver. It is very tight and the sun will hit you directly. Wineries were fine.
