Ravenna's Golden Glow: Unforgettable Mosaic Art Journey

Excellent tour. It’s worth paying for this guided tour to see these magnificent mosaics. Our guide was very knowledgeable, kept it interesting, and had a good sense of humor. She kept the tour at a good pace to cover a lot without rushing.

Our tour included about 20-25 people, which proved to be a bit unwieldy for our time. With a group that size and the need to be quiet in churches, I felt that we missed some good content. But still, the tour stops by several truly beautiful churches that are wall to wall with mosaics, and some of the most beautiful churches and frescoes in Italy.

Really interesting lesson of culture, art and religious traditions. All of them reflected in those stunning buildings. Asunta, best guide ever.

We had such a great morning in Lea’s studio learning the culture and techniques. She was welcoming and very knowledgeable. Her studio is a bit outside the town square but the booking agency was very communicative and helpful on how to navigate arrival.

This is the standard Italian-spoken tour of 5 of the 8 UNESCO sites in Ravenna. It is excellent value for a 3-hour tour with all the site entrance fees included, as well as the Archiepiscopal Museum (with Maximian's Throne). Our guide,Christian, had entertaining stories and insights and time flew by. Just keep in mind: as the standard tour, the group will be large and with headsets. And: you need to understand Italian...

We had an excellent, 3 hour private tour with Luana, visiting Ravenna’s churches containing the beautiful mosaics. Luana has a deep knowledge of art, religion, and history, which she shared with us in an engaging way. We could have spent days with her! Ravenna and its mosaics are truly not to be missed, and our tour with Luana made the experience even more meaningful. Highly recommend.

I'd recommend this tour if you want to understand the history of Ravenna and the mosaics. Lots of interesting anecdotes from our guide Bardo. Good value as it includes entry to some of the sites.

It all felt a bit rushed. A large group, over 20, made it difficult to interact with the guide, and on balance I think a good guide book doing it at my own speed would have been a better experience

The tour with the guide Balthezarro was brilliant. Entry fee is included to all the sites we visited. Loads of information on the history of the churches and mosaics with general information about Ravenna and the places we passed along the way. Three hours in total which went very quickly. Would highly recommend
