This is an absolute must if you’re staying in or around Rotorua. The welcome was outstanding and it was an incredible opportunity to learn more about the Maori culture. All the hosts were brilliant, so very entertaining. The village is set in the most stunning environment. A traditional lunch was provided, let me say it was the most delicious food! Great value. Highly recommended.

Very well organized from the traditional boat rowing, to the plentiful buffet, to the cultural performance with dancing and singing, and, finally, to the evening walk to see the sacred spring and the glowworms. Be ready to walk up hills and stairs. Take a sweater for the later evening.

Awesome experience to watch all the Māori cultures and delicious foods. Highly recommended for families and even solo travelers. I joined this tour alone, and made a new connection and had fun conversations with them.

If you appreciate cultures with strong traditions this experience is for you. The Māori people have so much rich history that ties together so many lands and people and learning from this tour only bolstered my appreciation for their culture. The food was absolutely amazing as well. I am kind of a food guy and they made me over eat and I’d do it again.

What a fantastic evening with the Mitai Māori. We were welcomed to their village where we were treated to a traditional meal. We were told the history and the traditions of the Maori. The Mitai then put on a welcome by displaying their traditional warrior boat party. This was followed by a full display of their fighting skills, a war challenge and the Māori Women’s display of some very impressive skills. All this was topped off by a display of the Haka. I feel privileged and humbled by the Mitai and thank you for such a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this show something I won’t forget.

Fantastic, learning experience about the Māori culture. The dinner and ambience was fantastic and food was delicious and well organised. The performances and cultural ceremonies were very interesting and provided a good insight for non Māori folk. My only feedback would be the group size, which was on the larger size. This did limit viewing at times.

Great experience. Worth to try. Everything is nice. Simple check in, even big group in the session but managed well. Food is awesome

Too many people in the group to enjoy the experiences. War canoe area: unsure where to go. Those who chose the path on the right side of stream ended up last and in the back at the cultural presentation. Could neither see the dancing, etc., nor hear much of the speeches. Unable to really see or enjoy performances… too far back due to size of group. Experience started too late for anyone traveling from coastal or other towns. Had to leave before village and glow worm bush walk. Not worth what we were charged. Starting earlier and changing order of things would have been better , with smaller group.

- Public transportation options are available nearby
- Infants are required to sit on an adult’s lap

Unfortunately, you will not see the glow worms. (Note: there is some uneven surfaces).

- Infant seats are subject to availability
