A fun way to learn about the history and architecture of a new town. Daniella did a great job—very informative and friendly. Set a spooky-but-child-friendly tone, as there was a child in our group.

Guide Jack was super smart informed and very professional. The tour was well researched and he even did a story as a dedication to an Algonquin woman.

I’ve been on a haunted walk in Scotland and my daughter had been on a haunted walk in Oshawa and this was just a little bit lacking. Our host told us that he’s just a spare host and they were overbooked so they called him in… maybe this is why he didn’t seem as practiced. When he made a mistake and what he was saying, he seemed to get a bit flustered and we had a long pause and then he corrected himself. If he had just continued, I probably wouldn’t of noticed. Many of his stories came with some kind of disclaimer that they might not be true which do you know if you’re on a haunted walk….the reason you’re going is it’s all stories. We did a lot of walking, but not as much storytelling as I expected, having been through one before. The one I was on as well in Scotland everyone had headphones so that we could hear the storytellers very clearly, and the storytellers were very colourful and acted the part. It was a nice walk in the evening around Ottawa, but I could’ve done that myself.

Fun, entertaining, and informative! Our guide, Nart, was an amusing storyteller. I learned a lot about the sinister side of the city’s history.
