Epic Jökulsárlón: Glacier Lagoon & Diamond Beach Adventure

I later took the Glacier Lagoon Jökulsárlón tour with Robert and Hanes. It was magical, I had never had the chance to see a glacier before, and it completely amazed me! The “Diamond Beach” is also stunning. These landscapes are truly unique. Thank you to our driver, Robert, as it was a long journey and he was professional and attentive to the well-being of his passengers. Thank you to Hanes as well, who taught us so much about each place we visited, as well as about the origins of Iceland and its myths. Despite a long day, they both allowed us to stop at several places to admire magnificent Northern Lights!

Glad we took this tour to the Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach, but be prepared to spend about 12 hours sitting on a bus. The guide was friendly but did not provide any details about the lagoon, beach, or how to get behind the waterfall (it was impossible in the dark and ice). Stopped twice at the same Vik convenience stop for meals (and you could go to the gift shop). Bus was clean and on time.

Operated by Iceland Tours Guide Micah and the coach driver Sylvester made sure that it was a comfortable and safe experience, as it was an icy day. They went the extra mile to ensure that all their guests had the best possible experience.

Our guide Petra, was amazing! She told us a lot about Iceland. We had enough time to take foto’s, walk around or just enjoying beautiful views..We had really good time. Thank you so much.

I came here with my friends, and the overall experience was fantastic. Even though the drive was long, our guide Simon kept explaining interesting things along the way, which made the whole trip really enjoyable. And when we got to the waterfall at the end, we even saw the Northern Lights — we were so lucky! Highly recommended!

It is 14 hours long, and a lot of driving in the bus, but you know that before you book. Driver and guide were very good. Saw a lot, and there were several stops. It is definitely worthwhile. Just dress warm as quite windy.

We had an absolutely amazing experience on our Glacier Lagoon and Diamond Beach tour! Our guide Kristi and driver Eugen were outstanding. The ride was smooth and well-paced, with each stop perfectly timed to explore and take in the views. The glacier lagoon boat tour we added was absolutely worth it (got to see seals), and the waterfalls, black sand beach, and Diamond Beach were all breathtaking. Kristi made the day so enjoyable…she kept us entertained with Icelandic stories and folklore, played music (our song requests!), and shared so many fascinating facts about Iceland’s history and culture. My party of 6 honestly learned more on this single trip than during multiple days of tours with another company! The bus was comfortable, had a small bathroom, steady Wi-Fi, and even had outlets for charging (2-prong plug for out bus). To top it off, Eugen and Kristi even stopped so we could catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights…a super cool, unexpected bonus! Truly a A-Plus experience from start to finish. Highly recommend this tour and duo!

We had a great experience visiting the glacier, 2 waterfalls and a black sand beach and black pebble beach. Great way to spend a day. Petra our guide and Tolvi our driver were fantastic. Everyone on our tour loved it. Go there prepared (waterproof clothing or poncho) to get wet and walk behind the waterfall It is a once in a lifetime experience.

To no fault of the company. Just stating. It’s a long day and a lot of driving. We had a nearly full huge coach bus. Personally felt there was enough access to bathrooms. There was one on the bus but didn’t know that. WiFi was decent. Felt like we had plenty of time at each stop. I had great weather. Our driver was super chill. And at the end of the tour pulled over 3x bc you could see the lights. While that’s Great. I got to the bus stop at 7am and didn’t get home until 1015pm. I must have misunderstood but I thought you could see the columns at diamond beach as well. But it was only diamond black sand. Which was still great. The waterfall was cool. You will get wet. Might be canceled if icy or bad conditions. Glacier was cool. I didn’t take the boat.

Absolutely spectacular day. The scenery, the perfect amount of information and the weather was extremely kind. Long day but on the way back the driver stopped so we could take Norther lights pictures as a bonus. Would recommend to anyone.
