Wake Up Reykjavík’s walking food tour ran about three hours and it was fun the entire time, which feels impossible for group activities. Thor was friendly, sharp, and somehow had an answer for every random question our group tossed out. Messinn’s fish was the crowd favorite. However, I’m still thinking about the pastries and coffee at Bakabaka. My wife is gluten free and Thor made sure she was included with real food, not the usual sad salad workaround. Easy pick for first-time visitors and foodies, plus Thor said different time slots rotate restaurants, so you can go twice without repeating the same stops. We will probably do the food tour again when we get back to Reykjavík after our road trip.

What a wonderful way to start our Icelandic visit. Our guide Mimir was AMAZING. He met us on time, gave us an overview of what to expect, and then set off at a gentle pace all the while answer questions and pointing out interesting sites. And each restaurant was ready to seat us, the food was served quickly, and he told us stories about the history of the foods and culture. And everything we ate, including the fermented shark was great. And for two out of shape, middle-aged Americans it was a joy to walk through the city and an easy walk throughout. It was well worth the money and we both highly recommend it if you love food and history. What a joy!

Our guide Gudny Helga was fun and super knowldgeable. She shared history, folklore, and her perspective as she guided us through several venues. The experience was fun and engaging and brought us a great overview of the city. As someone who doesn't eat seafood, they were very accomodating, ensuring there was something for me to try at every stop. This is a must do for anyone with an interest in local food!

It was so much fun! Haddt was an excellent food guide brought energy, fun and local folk lore to entertain us as we travel to each destination. And the food was delicious. Highly recommend the tour especially with Haddy!

Our tour guide HADDY WAS THE BEST! His knowledge, enthusiasm brightened our day! We landed that morning with very minimal sleep and we are so grateful to have gone on this tour! Helped us see the city, while gaining information on the culture and city; while eating amazing food. 100/10 recommend

Haddy was an amazing tour guide - so much fun and such great energy on the tour! Everything we tried was delicious, even the fermented shark! Amazing value for money - you really don't need to eat beforehand, you'll leave absolutely stuffed. The tour takes a few hours and takes you all through the centre of Reykjavik ending conveniently at the Cathedral, so you're right at the next stop to do some sightseeing.

Gave good overview of both city, its history , and local foods. Lenny was informative and explained the local food specialties and their history and components

Was excited to join this walking tour to experience the wonderful food of Iceland. It exceeded expectations. We had a really nice group from around the world. Mimir was our guide and he was so enjoyable throughout the journey. He shared a lot about himself, his culture, city and most importantly our cuisine. We sampled some great dishes, a few drinks, the world famous hot dog and even the dreaded fermented shark. A must do experience!

David was a fantastic tour guide. This was our favorite thing to do in Reykjavík. The portions were generous and the history was rich.
