Unforgettable Uyuni Mirror Sunset: Salt Flats Day Trip

We really enjoyed our time during one day trip through Salar de Uyuni. We had enough time for every place we visited, didn’t feel rushed. Special thanks to our guide Brian, best guide here, who played in the radio best songs, even polish hits :D Because of Brian we have some extraordinary photos from the Salt flats 😃

Had an amazing day touring the Uyuni Salt Flats yesterday. Comfortable car with an experienced driver/guide. He told us lots about the area and the salt flats. Delicious lunch at the original salt flats hotel, and a glass of wine and nibbles watching the sunset. But most beautiful were the salt flats and Incahuasi Island. A must see!

The tour was amazing and we had an amazing guide honestly but when lunch came around after we ate my dad and girlfriend started having stomach issues. They have the food in the car sitting for god knows how long. I'm not sure about other people, but it affected us badly that night and for the past few days. I messaged them about it asking for a pharmacy but they never responded through WhatsApp. It has now been about 4 days since the tour and we are in Chile with diarrhea. A doctor said we got a bacterial infection from the food they gave us and we are currently taking antibiotics. We ate nothing else that day and only drank bottled water so we know it was that and we felt bad soon after and that night. Overall I would book again but like I said please avoid the food. We have traveled to many South American countries and this was the first time we have gotten sick like this so we have pretty strong stomachs but sadly not strong enough. Thank you

100% would recommend this to anyone and would do it again in a heartbeat. After a TON of research we went with Andes Sale Expeditions Tour and couldn't have been happier. Our guide Brian was super helpful, funny, and made sure we had a very memorable and amazing day. He did a wonderful job taking fun perspective photos of our group and was careful and safe with his driving. We have some amazing photos of our time at the sale flats thanks to him. The Toyota Land Cruiser was comfortable and we felt safe the entire time we were on the tour. Lunch was delicious and the wine/snacks at sunset was a highlight for everyone.

One word - Fantastic! The train cemetry, lunch, white salt sand, cactus island, and sunset mirror effect along with the wine and snacks - all were extremely good, and well planned. Of course, the good/appropriate weather played its role too! The only bit that needs improvement is that due to smaller groups that can fit into the SUVs, the tour operator had only one English speaking guide, Brian, who was good but was not in our vehicle (obviously could not be in two vehicles, at the same time) -- so, if there were two English speaking tourist vehicles, the tour operator should have had two English speaking guides/drivers, which would have provided us more information and opportunity to know more about the place/s en route, to all these wonderful places.

My partner and I had a great experience doing the 1 day salt flats tour. After having our belongings stolen the night before the tour we were in terrible spirits however the sites/views were incredible and our tour guide Brian was so understanding, knowledgeable and entertaining - it completely changed our perspectives and allowed us to fully relax/enjoy the experience. Would highly highly recommend this tour to others visiting Uyuni.

Awesome experience. I appreciated how our guide get the group moving without rushing us. He even let us linger in the salt flat to experience the stars which wasn’t on the itinerary. Highly recommended.

Sharing the sunset on the Uyuni Salt Flats with my partner was, without a doubt, one of the most romantic experiences of our lives. As the sky turned shades of orange, pink, and violet, the immense pool reflected everything around us, creating a feeling of floating in another world. With a glass of wine in hand, we enjoyed the silence and the immensity of the place, saying almost nothing and simply letting ourselves be carried away by the magic of the moment. It was a perfect moment, where nature and love united in a setting that is difficult to describe. The tour was very well organized: comfortable transportation, an attentive guide, and every detail was taken care of to make the experience unique. I highly recommend experiencing the sunset on the Uyuni Salt Flats as a couple; it is an unforgettable memory.
