We booked this day trip with the Cairns Adventure Group at $229 each and we're more than a little disappointed. We felt that many of the attractions advertised in their glossy flyer were greatly exaggerated and the day was little more than one long coach ride with about 6 hrs spent on the road and each stop feeling far too hurried. So. Here is the stage by stage breakdown: Coach pick up in Cairns, punctual and friendly. Mossman George 'welcome to my country' ceremony. This was interesting with an indigenous person describing some customs and practices. Mossman Gorge, 1hr stop: here it was possible to swim in a small stretch of river, although there were signs everywhere advising you not to! We followed the advice and went for a 2.4km circular walk in the rainforest, though we had been advised not to do the loop after the bridge, advice we ignored. Sadly we saw no wildlife but the trees and undergrowth were spectacular. We arrived back at the coach just in time to leave. Daintree River Cruise: a big part of this is the advertised crocodile spotting but none were seen and there was very little other fauna to enjoy. The river trip was very short, only 4kms, so a disappointment. Lunch (included) is described as 'hearty' but mine was a burrito, half a wrap filled with cheese and other food.. Hearty it really wasn't! The rainforest walk was a circular route led by our guide but again it was rushed and other than stick insects there was very little evidence of the 'native wildlife' referred to in the glossy flyer. The beach walk to experience 'where the rainforest meets the sea' was a matter of walking no more than 10 metres onto the beach for just a few minutes before piling back into the coach. Not my idea of a beach walk, which was a pity as this was a beautiful spot. The scenic lookout was a stop on a bend in the busy coast road where we had just a few minutes to take photos, again, not quite what we expected from the advertising. The ice cream was lovely, but we had to pay for it, so not really part of the tour! Finally, the brochure states that the return to Cairns will be approximately 7-7.30pm, but we were back by 6.00 meaning we could have had longer at each attraction. So, to summarise, far too long bouncing about in a coach on winding, uneven roads, far too little time at the actual points of interest and hugely over-hyped inclusions which really disappoint. $229 is a lot of money, save it for something better!

Fantastic day, unbelievable to experience the wilderness, nature and learn about the history. Daniel was our driver and guide and was first class. Very professional, personable and knowledgeable I would highly recommend this tour and Daniel as your guide. It is a long day but it’s punctuated perfectly with Morning Tea and Ice Creams between the numerous stops, visits and experiences. I could do it again tomorrow!

This was a last-minute booking but turned out to be an amazing day trip experience. Daniel is an excellent guide — very knowledgeable and engaging. I learned so many interesting facts through him, in a way that really suits how I like to learn. The schedule was well planned and everything flowed smoothly. I had a fantastic time and truly enjoyed the whole journey!highly recommended!!

A very busy day, a lot of bus time which was expected. Commentary from tour guide/driver was informative and the places we visited were interesting. Worth it for a quick overview of the area.

This experience involves walking through the Daintree Rainforest, then boarding a boat to travel down the river. If I had it to do over again, I would do the treetop version. We saw one very small crocodile and a spider. The tour guide made derogatory remarks about Americans.

Great day, lots to see & experience. Cristo was also great, a fountain of knowledge, with a few funny stories to boot. The ice cream was a welcome ending to a very hot day

It was a great trip but a long day with long stints in the coach. As we were last pick up my and my husband weren’t able to sit together - which was a shame. Saw a baby croc! Chrsto was a great guide with lots of stories to tell!

We took this tour as we wanted to see as much native wildlife as possible including crocodiles. This far far exceeded our expectations. We had the phenomenal Scott as our tour guide who absolutely made this such a fantastic and memorable day, it was also his birthday so we sang to him which I overheard him say was humbling, awww. We saw so much including crocodiles and lizards as well as learning so much about the rainforest and its inhabitants. The flora and fauna were stunning and Scott happily kept us fully entertained throughout and answered all of our questions. we travelled in what can only be described as a modified overlander type truck. The Daintree river cruise was so much fun and I think we had Craig as our tour guide, who kept us amused as well as finding baby and adult crocs. We saw everything from giant spiders to a tea plantation and had the best lunch ever and afternoon tea with cake and even locally made ice cream in generous portions. A very well thought out trip that gave and gave. I cannot share here just how much we did and saw and how much fun it was here, only that I fully recommend it and would love to go again soon. Well done and many thanks .
