Authentic Thai Market Magic: Train Track & Floating Tour
This tour will bring you to the Maeklong Railway Market (umbrella pulldown market) by local train and then continue to visit Damnoensaduak Floating Market. This is often considered the most famous floating market in Thailand. Recommend : The early morning 6.00 am and 6.30 am will be better option for less tourist and more time in both market.

This tour was a real highlight and our Tour Guide Alex or “Alexa” was great fun, informative and he seemed to be well-known to everyone we met during the day. He kept us entertained, flicking his fan to get our attention and helped us to get some great photos. The tour itself started with the pickup from our hotel on time. Riding the train into the market was great fun and it was great to greet and high five the locals through the train window as we approached our stop - something we experienced in reverse later when we were walking by the tracks in the market with the train passing inches from our face and high fiving the passengers - some passing sweets to us! Alexa took us through short cuts in the market to some great stalls where we were bought some nice gifts and sampled some local food. At the end of this, the minibus was waiting to take us onto the floating market where we had a relaxing boat ride on the narrow waterway. The guy paddling the boat for us navigated brilliantly, pulling into stalls whenever we wanted to look at or buy food, drink or gifts etc. This was another great experience. At the end, Alexa took us to a restaurant where we had an excellent and reasonably priced lunch before the Minibus drove us back. This was a real fun half-day and an experience not to be missed. Thanks to our tour guide Alexa and our minibus driver who miraculously met us promptly at each stop! Would thoroughly recommend this tour.

Our guide was great but I wish there was time to explore at each the railway market even if it was only an hour. We felt everything was very rushed. For the floating market, maybe a bit more explanation on how it works.

Three unique experiences - riding through a market, watching a train pass inches from your face then a relaxing boat trip through canals….all whilst being able to shop! Ample time at both locations for food & browsing souvenirs. Absolutely lovely guide. Minibus pick-ups and drop-offs at each location were timed perfectly - some legs of the journey approx 90mins long, which gave time for a snooze after the early morning start! Ending at MBK Mall…so just make sure you know your way home from there.

Amazing experience! Sara, our guide was knowledgeable, personable and very entertaining. She made sure everyone was enjoying the trip. Sara shared many valuable information about Thai culture and local food. The trip was well organized, the vehicle comfortable and the activities well planned. I truly recommend. Solo traveler, Maya

Sara was a great guide and taught us the Thai language and explained the history of the railway and floating markets. She gave us great advice when we went on our own and explored.

The Train market is still interesting to watch and shop something. The Floating market is, excuse me, boring. All goods are only for tourists ( beer, coco ice cream, baskets, hats and things made from wood and textiles ) nothing seemed to be local. Some boats use a motor and it stink when the cross by. Some are driven by man power, that is fast enough for my thinking.

Bobby was an awesome guide. Riding the train through the market was an awesome experience. Leaning out the window and high fiving hundreds of people squished between the stalls and the train will be a memory that sticks with me for life. The floating market was just visually stunning. To me crowds of people just add to the chaos and experience.
