It was a good experience. Our guide was knowledgeable. We did it in October.. a bit hot. November to February is the recommended time

Great tour, picked up from hotel on time, boat clean & undercover area with comfortable lounge chairs and nice cold beers flowing. Our guide spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable throughout the tour. Highly recommend

We recommended this day out to others in our hotel - they went today and agreed. We collected by our guide and a cute historical tuktuk. Onto a boat - we were the only guests. Unlimited beer which was generous. Lovely trip to the island viewing life on the river for fisher families. Silk island felt like genuine island life how it used to be. Hopping off the boat we were treated by cows having a rest out of the sun and a walk through family memorials. Our guide told us about his life as a budist monk. The most delicious stop to buy fried bananas & sweet potato to snack on the journey while viewing farmland scenery & crops before arriving at the silk farm. Under the stilt houses on the way, we could see woman weaving on looms but there were many more at the community silk centre. We were shown live silk worms and the process was explained before having time to look at the finished products- none are exported to be sold elsewhere - you can only get these silk items from this island. Each lady has her own design that they start learning from age 12. Our guide was off picking mangoes for a fruit platter on the way back. We loved this day out.

We booked a group tour but there was only us so the boat trip part was excellent. Nice views and pick up was on time from hotel. The guide was enthusiastic and I enjoyed learning a little about buddhism and the differences in Cambodia at the temple although my kids thought it was a bit too much detail! It was also nice to see a village in contrast to busy phnom penh. Enjoyed the silk farm. Interesting to see the process. Yes the handmade silk is relatively expensive but once you understand how many days each takes to make it makes sense, and the prices are actually way less than if you buy the handmade silk scarves at the airport duty free! They also have cheaper machine made options if you prefer. On the way back we were served fruit that our guide bought fresh at the village, which was a nice touch. Be warned they dont return you to the hotel but its an easy walk to post office square from where the boat finishes.

We went on the afternoon sail with just two other couples. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and showed a passion for his country and its history. The island was very self sufficient with a variety of crops and to learn how the silk was formed and to see the looms in action and the intricate patterns being made was fascinating. It was a sunny day and the boat journey there and back together with the beer made for a great trip. Thoroughly recommend.

This was a last minute excursion booked. The guide was knowledgeable and had good knowledge to share. Somewhat expensive for the level of service ( boat and refreshments) but we enjoyed the tour

We were picked up from our hotel which was great as wouldn’t have know where to go otherwise. We were part of a small group which isn’t an issue but easier for the guide more so. 1st part of the trip was a 45min boat ride to Silk Island 2nd part we were shown and explained about the tombs on the island and the people who lived on the island. 3rd part was a small tuk tuk ride to the place where they looked after the silk worms through to making silk garments. Then tuk tuk back to the boat. 4th 45min boat ride back to Phonm Penh Beer and drinks were offered constantly and fruit was lovely a fresh. I even got to sail/steer the boat. Would recommend this trip but not if you have issues with walking as the walk to and off the boat is dangerous. Worth booking.

This was a very enjoyable half day trip. Our guide was very knowledgable and interesting; his English was excellent. The boat trip to and from the island was very relaxing and a lovely break from the heat and bustle of Phnom Penh. When on the island we learned a lot about traditional island life and its agriculture. We travelled by tuk tuk to the island’s traditional silk weaving centre where we saw the weavers create their traditional silk scarves. This was fascinating! I would highly recommend this trip.

I thought it was an authentic silk weaving island. Yes they show you the loom and silk worm etc but there were too many products on display to have been made by hand. Also the usual "hard sell" and "I give you special discount ". If the product is original then the official fixed price should apply.
